Factor: entrepreneurship
John Hendricks noticed the rise of satellite-delivered cable networks. At the time, HBO created access to documentary entertainment, which intrigued him, however they didn’t have a specific channel for documentaries. Hendricks needed a channel of documentaries as a professor to show his class, so he decided he would make the channel himself.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/danschawbel/2013/12/29/john-hendricks-how-he-built-the-discovery-channel-from-scratch/?sh=3cf5370f6a08
