When you’re sick, it’s easier and more comfortable to conduct remote sessions, and you won’t risk transmitting your illness to the participants. Of course, I’m not advocating that you conduct research when you’re extremely sick and unable to function. 

For example, if the researcher is not critically ill, then the study can be done at home. When researchers must blow their nose or cough, they may turn off their microphones in remote research, which is more secure and less intrusive than fieldwork.

With remote research, we can quickly go from "going to get the feedback" to "actually hearing from external users" and getting that feedback just in a few hours. Tools like User Interviews, or Respondent make it possible to recruit participants for sessions within a few days, or even the same day.
