Students are assigned their own animation, a monster! They are able to earn "Dojo Points" for positive behaviors, such as helping a classmate, completing their class job, standing in line quietly, and much more. Students can also lose points for undesirable behavior. Depending on the teacher's setting, parents will either be notice of the lost/gained point when it occurs or at the end of the school day. What these Dojo Points mean is up to each teacher. They can be cashed in for a award or saved for something bigger! Class Dojo also records all student points and generates a spreadsheet for the teacher. This works great when analyzing student behavior and determining stressors throughout the school day.

Without an award system set in place, student motivation is often a challenge. However, IXL does award students certificates once they master a new skill or spend so many hours practicing. Once students hit that goal, the teacher is emailed the certificate! Teachers can also create their own personalized certificates under "printable resources'
