We see this with the closure of Hazelwood Power Station and reduced expansion of the Coal Industry. Unfortunately, here in Australia we still have leaders, political and industry, who believe that fossil fuels (gas in particular) are necessary for jobs - we have to apply pressure to move away from this and be creative in creation of industry and jobs that does not rely on fossil fuels. Imagine if the big mines were covered with solar panels?! Climate change deniers still exist, and will always exist. There are many for who this issue will seem unimportant, and we cannot feel any sense of disappointment or anger towards them, because there is a privilege in being able to address and think about these issues.
