In reality, I've got family all over the country and have lived in multiple states as well. My mom and her side of the family are from New York and the New England area, my dad and his side of the family live in Mississippi and Alabama, I've got various relatives that live in places like Florida, Ohio and North Carolina, and I've lived in Oregon, Texas and Arkansas. Before settling on teaching, I really wanted to be a sign language interpreter, but that wasn't an option at my school. After I graduate with my Bachelor's degree in teaching, I might go back to a different school and get my sign language certification. If that were the case, I could teach sign language, which would be a really cool career.
Other than my major and career, I'm also heavily involved with the Baptist Collegiate Ministry on campus, or BCM for short, and this semester I actually joined their leadership team. I've had countless opportunities come my way through the BCM that I never would have experienced otherwise, and some of them have been life-changing. I'm super thankful for the impact the ministry has had on my life, and I want to share the community they've created with others! I started playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends and am now a part of two ongoing campaigns, I'll be co-captaining an intramural volleyball team in a few weeks, and I've gotten pretty good at playing ping pong. I've also joined a baking workshop that happens weekly in the Adohi Cabin kitchen, and I've learned lots of new recipes from that that I'm looking forward to sharing with my friends and family. One thing that I want to get better at over the coming months, especially as the weather gets warmer, is roller skating.
