Having a warm source of light that creates an comforting ambiance is alright at times, however in the environment of a restaurant, patrons will need proper lighting to read the menus. This lighting will pose some challenges to the task at hand.

Since the bed is so low, I really like the balance of the lighting. Some are lower making it more convenient for everyday use, while the strip lighting at the top seems to cover more ground/space for a fully lit room. There is also a large window, allowing for plenty of natural light, so there's a healthy balance of artifical/natural light as well.

While the room is beautiful and probably going for a darker, more ominous atmosphere, I think the lighting minimal. There is one light on the ceiling, from this angle it does seem like theyre either spaced far apart or that is the sole lighting, which again doesn't seem to be enough. The circle light behind the couch is more decorative than functional, it illuminates the space around it, but it is not necessary when it is placed behind where people will be. It doesn't illuminate the space that will actually be used.

This room is so busy in every sense, but the lighting is contributing to a lot of that. I notice about 5 different sources, and even though the windows are small, the room does not need to have that much lighting. The side pot-lights are only glowing up the paintings - which underneath has 3 different shadows being cast by all the lighting. The use of two ceiling lamps as opposed to one (perhaps grander) also makes the room feel too crowded. They're also not strong enough to illuminate the whole room, requiring the use of a floor lamp on the left corner.

the lighting in this space is optimized by using many sources of light, all of which can be customized at different lighting levels. In this room, light can be sourced from the fireplace, the hanging lights above specified living spaces, and the very obvious pot lights. Let's not forget the natural day light that can enter the room, with the lack of walls in the space.

The lighting is functional and is good, but the layout seems incredibly bright. There seems to be floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing plenty of natural light. The people are using the screens/maps, so having the light panels behind them takes away the focus and makes it more difficult to see. The overbearing light may also be straining on the eyes.

While it looks like there may be large windows on the right side of the image, I think the lack of lighting fixtures would offer poor lighting at night or in the early morning. It definitely looks like there is space to add more fixtures in the space, and I don’t think they took advantage of that.

The use of colour & layered light creates the right mood/energy for the location. The hallway is well lit without overwhelming the space. I personally think this is not so great lighting. It casts too many shadows elsewhere, and (at least in person) the light directly on alot of the work makes a harsh glare, especially reflecting off of certain paints and textures, which makes it difficult to actually see the full painting properly. Everytime I go to the AGO it annoys me because I can never properly view the art without having to shift around to see whats behind the light glare.

The way the white walls and cupboards reflect off from the light helps enhance the brightness in the kitchen area. Everything can be seen clearly and makes the area feel more open. The track lighting can move in different directions in order to light certain areas which can be useful to fill up dark spaces with more light.

Primary color used for this mall is purple and blue which create futuristic/vibrant vibe. Also the combination of the colours and the textures of structure (steel, white tiles, neon signs etc) go along together very well. Also the amount of the light being used is very effective for sales (As the reason there is no window in the mall is to make people lose track of time while shopping). The vibe of 'late night casino (?)' is also very appealing to me and this feature will allure people to come in eventually.

The only GOOD thing about this lighting is the pretty star-shaped сhandelier. This is a children's room, but I don't see lighting around the corners of the room that would light up the room well in the dark while children are playing. The сhandelier is blue, which means that whatever lamp we choose, the light will be cool and not comfortable for the bedroom.

The lighting used for this hotel corridor is definitely used for aesthetic purposes. Although the lighting is not that bright at all and does not illuminates the area, it gives the corridor a unique look and helps emphasis it's length (you could definitely argue that this belongs under bad lighting). I am putting this under decent lighting because I believe it's value does not only depend on how well it brightens the given location, but also how well the lighting suits the environment and gives it character.

The only light source for this dining room comes from the LED fixture over the table. It's insufficient even for eating, and especially since the table is mostly used as a workspace. The only thing that makes this somewhat manageable is that the dining space is open to the sitting room and kitchen which each have windows and more lights.

This room has great lighting because it utilizes both natural and artificial light in a cohesive way. The large windows and high ceilings provide natural light while the lighting in the niche's allow for great accents bringing attention to the art/decorations being displayed. The use of pot lights on the ceilings also allow for a great amount of light in the evenings/night when natural light will no longer be available.

For me, the lighting is very welcoming and that yellow luminaire on the corner as well as on the top of the window is making the space feel livelier because it distributes a natural reflection of light. Pastel blue curtains and white walls with the grey color of furniture helps to brighten up the living room. This sad excuse for a light provides light only to the surrounding ceiling area. Light in a kitchen is very important and this one does not check any boxes. The kitchen is very dark and the one window is small and covered up. Anyone using this kitchen to cook a meal would struggle a lot. One ceiling light is also not enough. Multiple pot lights across the ceiling perhaps would do a much better job at lighting the entire kitchen. A light above the stove would also serve the inhabitants of the house well and might just stop someone from burning their fingers. The yellow colour of the light makes the room look very moody, which would work better in a restaurant to me. Adding in some more brighter, whiter light would provide this kitchen with the lighting it needs.

This room has a great variety of light in different areas of the space. Although this room is very aesthetic, the only controllable light the room seems to have are lines of tiny Christmas lights. A great source of light comes into the room through the huge window on top of the bed, but just imagine cloudy days. It seems impossible to even read a book in rainy days or at nights. This place maybe used only for sleeping in the evening. However, I see a book on the bed with a laptop. This form of lighting doesn't seem to be suitable for that purpose.

This small bathroom seems to have great lighting with a white tone to make the bathroom look clean and ready to use. There is a light coming out from behind the mirror that boosts the purpose of it, looking at yourself. There is another light that directly shines the bathtub, which can help prevent slipping over (if there is a drop of shampoo, it will be visible).

The more I looked at this picture the more lighting choices I found! Wonderful large windows for natural light during the day, multiple bulbs in the dining room chandelier for some ambiance, two decent sized standing or table lamps on either side of the couch, a sconce hidden amongst picture frames, and even a living room chandelier. So many options to either brighten the space at night or to change the feel of the space to whatever mood you want to establish. Plus it's just a very pretty room where the lights blend well with it.

This is part of 9 ¾ Bookstore +Café located in Medellin, Colombia. Design Studio Plasma Nodo has designed this place. In my opinion, the partial lighting in the hexagon-shaped hideaway spaces here has a decent illuminance for the space, providing a cozy feeling when reading a book and serves to keep you focused. Overall, it maintains comfort by adjusting the illuminance close to natural light.

This space might look like it has ok lighting, but being in it daily makes you realize how poor it really is. There is only one light source (as my parent's keep the blinds closed). This room might just be the most depressing entertainment room I've seen. The one lamp in the corner is barely doing anything, there's almost no point of it being there! Adding pot lights that could be dimmed down would be great for this kitchen also adding some led lights under the cabinets would work well if it was night time and don't want to be blinded by lights. This space demonstrate perfectly layering in lighting. Although you can see different types of lighting, there is a great combination and composition between them. Also combination of light color and liner lightings in the walls help to see the space bigger than usual.

I love how this living space is well-lighted with large, fixed windows that maximizes the exposure of natural light. On the other hand the chandeliers are placed well, not eye-tiring and are completing the atmosphere of living room.

To me this is a space with decent lighting. Floor to ceiling windows, lamps danglıng from the high ceiling makes the space quiet bright. However, although table lamps and electric fireplace brings a coz vibe, they don'y make the space much brighter.

This is a cozy home look with a nice stove. It is unfortunate that this is almost the only fixture that gives the room some light. Little table lamps and the chandelier/lamp on the ceiling are only lighting around themselves, and creates shades all over the room.

That image is from a bad-lighted restaurant. They don't seem to have much windows and those tiny lighting fixtures only enlighten their perimeter and creates a dark space. I wonder how people walk and see each other.

I think this dining area has enough natural lights which are coming from from the huge window. also, there are lights in the buffet that would allow accessories to show better. although the chandelier is not on, it has plenty of lights in the room.

Perhaps some people disagree that this is a good lighting. However, I want to give a high score that this lighting makes daily space ecstatic that can be boring. This lighting allows you to choose a variety of colors (from deep violet to subtle sand colors) and this alone can have interior design effects with simple structure. Perhaps this lighting is not suitable for reading books or working. But if this light can soothe our mood and change the atmosphere simply and beautifully, I would be happy to say that this light is a decent lighting.

I think this is a comfy choice of lighting to have on a nice night. I personally don't like super bright lights while enjoying the nighttime, it's low and ambient to see everything and everybody well enough while being in a cozy state of mind and space

I feel that this is great lighting for a kitchen as you get both natural and artificial lighting. The under-cabinet lights make the space feeling bigger than it is, as well as the lighting under the breakfast bar; the pot lights as well really opens up the room as they're placed inside the crowning giving the illusion of a higher ceiling. I personally think that the warmer lights really work well with the cool-toned palette of the kitchen.

Directed light is considered one of the weak lighting that does not illuminate the entire room, but rather aims to illuminate a specific area such as what is shown in the picture and makes the contrast in the parts of the room clear between light and dark.

I think this is a great example of great lighting because it creates enough lighting for a livinng space but not as bright as you'd want to have your space be. Its calming and dimmed to lower energy. Along with the white walls, it makes the space very soothing, which is something you'd want to come home to after a busy day at work or your daily life. This home has sense of relaxing and soothing atmosphere.

In this picture, the lighting is very poor and does not give comfort. Although the decor is beautiful, but the bad lighting makes the flaws become more apparent.

The lighting in this room doesn't seem sufficient for it's purpose. It's very dim, with accent lighting on one wall that has no real purpose. Even though it's warm, I'm finding it harsh at the same time. If this room was a home theatre it might be more appropriate.

I believe the use of natural light has a large role in great lighting. The floor to ceiling windows make the space vibrant, while the portlights seem to be placed strategically enough to be sufficient for when the sun isn't out.

I like the space and environment we can find in the room, the lights position are around the room where there is no darkness and everything seems clear. Also how the lights can be focus on certain parts of the room with just move them, I feel the white lights are the most useful and bright for make the room clear and light up.

The lighting in this space provides a warm and cozy feeling. The lighting is in all the right positions and focuses on different parts of the room. From the light in the center to the lighting downwards on the art pieces and the tv. There is both natural and artificial lighting.

I think the lighting at this bar is great for many reasons. The lighting at the bar creates a sense of comfort and I can not find light that could possible his a persons eyes. It feels like thinks are glowing from within.

Before you I have a living room. A particularly distastful room with a single dim lightsource atop the ceiling batthing the room in a sickly yellow glow that thouroughly unflatters the occupants beneith it as well as muddy the furnishings. The lamp to one side is by contrast quite cool which clashes greatly with the main source of light as though it attempts to make up for the main light source but instead loses itself in the fray. Better brighter lighting with more diverse sources are desperately needed here.
