A Midsummer Night's Dream and EPICAC both show how love is complicated by pursuing the fact that true love is complicated under false actions. For example, in A Midsummer Night's Dream, the characters, such as Lysander, Hermia, Demetrius, and Helena, are all controlled like puppets by Robin and Oberon. This can be classified as false actions for true love because they are messing up true love by using the flower nectar, causing them all to be against their will for who they love. As stated in A Midsummer Night's Dream, "Since night you loved me; yet since night you left me" This quote stated by Hermia, shows of how Robin and Oberon were able to use false actions but end up messing up a perfectly stable relationship. This shows of how love complicates itself when undergoing false action. However, in "EPICAC," the narrator uses EPICAC for his own gain in relationship wise with Pat. He realizes that she is interested in EPICAC's poems and he begins to abuse that. Although, not once did he tell Pat he was just claiming they were his when EPICAC was behind the whole thing. This uses false action (Narrator claiming EPICAC's work) to complicate true love.

In, "EPICAC," the narrator came up with lies to Pat that he wrote the poems, when really, it was EPICAC. He credited someone else's work as his own, and Pat didn't see that, so the circumstance she saw was wrong. The narrator's influence to do such things was the fact that he was in love with Pat. In, "Midnight Summer's Dream," Robin credited someone else's work as his own. This shows that love is complicated in the way as it is such a strong feeling that it can make you do crazy and dumb things such as credit other people's work as your own to make the desired person fall in love with you. Both sources, "Midnight Summer's Dream," and, "EPICAC," supported this idea.

Love is complicated because it can cause you to behave in weird ways and say things you might not say when in a positive state. For example, in "EPICAC" the Narrator was upset when EPICAC said he loved Pat the Narrator, while not in a normal mind set, ended up confusing and most likely hurt EPICAC by saying he could never be with Pat, because he is a machine. In "A Midsummer Night's Dream" when Helena was saying how much she loved Demetrius, while in the forest all he did was shout insults after insults, because he was annoyed with Helena's behavior. Another example would be when Hermia fights Helena, because Hermia is in love with Lysander and since she believes that Helena stole that love she got very anger and tried to hurt her.

Love is made complicated when people take false actions for love because if it was really true love, they wouldn't need to take any false actions. Take the story "EPICAC" for example! Pam may have actually fallen in love with the narrator if she was given enough time, but the narrator chose to lie to her about using EPICAC'S poems to make her fall for him! It states that he uses EPICAC'S poems on page 3. Here it states, "Pam was crying over the poem when I came back to work the next evening. 'It's soooo beautiful,' was all she could say." This evidence shows that he used and signed his name to EPICAC's poem. His actions make us question is Pam's love for the narrator is true love or if she fell in love with the poems and not the narrator. However, in A Midsummer Night's Dream because an outside force is introduced into the little love triangle in the story. When Oberon uses magic, he changes their dynamic, especially Lysander and Hermia's! The text on page 101 in Act 3, Scene 3 states, "Out, loathed med'cine! O, hated poison, hence!" In this text, Lysander clearly hates Hermia, which clearly contrasts with their relationship in the beginning! This is all caused because Oberon was tired of his stubborn wife, so he took "false" actions. These are just a few example of how taking "false" actions complicates love.

Love is complicated for the fact that you can alter fate. In the beginning of "EPICAC" Pat did not want to marry the Narrator since he wasn't poetic, which he wasn't. However, he made her believe he was by using EPICAC to be poetic for him. This causes Pat to think falsely of the Narrator and believe he is somebody he is not. Also, in Midsummer Nights Dream, it creates a love triangle between all of the lovers and further complicate things. In Act 3, Scene 2 it states, "What hast thou done? Thou hast mistaken quite and laid love juice on some true-love's sight." Love is complicated by having the power to alter fate.

Love is complicated by the fact lovers undertake "false'' actions to pursue "true'' love because the lovers don't know they are pursuing false love that they think is true. In "EPICAC", it says, "Pat was crying over the poem when I came to work the next evening." (Page 3, Paragraph 25). This illustrates how Pat is commiting "false" actions (crying when she read EPICACS poems), and chasing " true" love (the narrator instead of EPICAC.) Pat should be in love with the real author, EPICAC, when she actually falls in love with the narrator as a result of the narrator's actions. In A Midsummer Night's Dream, the nectar was put on Lysander's eyes instead of Demetruis's, making Lysander fall in love with Helena. This shows how Lysander is doing "false" actions, hating Hermia, To pursue "true" love, His false love for Helena.

Love is a very complicated subject and the complexity of love is demonstrated in both stories, "A Midsummer Nights Dream" and "EPICAC" because the characters in the story take false actions to try to pursue true love. To clarify in the story a "Midsummer nights dream" the characters are being manipulated by outside forces (Oberon and Robin) who cause the characters to fall in love with people who they do not truly love making their love false. An example of this is in (3.2 90-93)
" What hast thou done? Thou hast mistaken quite/ And laid the love juice on some true-love's sight./ Of thy misprision must perforce ensue/ Some true-love turned, and not a false turned true." Similar to "A Midsummer Nights Dream" the short story, "EPICAC" also try's to pursue true love through false actions. Evidence of this is on page 6, paragraph 53, " Pat stood before me, looking down at her shoe tops. I put my arm around her. The romantic groundwork had already been laid by EPICAC's poetry. "Darling," I said, "My poems have told you how I feel. Will you marry me?" This quote represents the fact that everything the narrator and Pats love has been build upon is false. What I mean is, the poems the narrator gave to Pat were actually written by EPICAC, the narrator just claimed that they were his. All in all, both stories represent the lovers undertaking false actions to seek "true" love.

The text "A Midsummer Night Dream" give an example of true love with Lysander and Hermia because they love each other even when people cast spells on them. They will also speak there true opinion to be with each other.

I feel the reason "true" love is so complicated in a mid summer nights dream is because the only act of true love was between Lysander and Hermia and with the accident that true love was broken.

Both A Midsummer Night's Dream and "EPICAC" pursue a complicated love in different ways. In A Midsummer Night's Dream, the love is fake and forced by an outside disruption. This causes true love like Hermia and Lysander's to be twisted and broken. Hermia states, "Since night you loved me/Yet last night you left me (3.2.200)." Which shows how fast an out side force can effect love so quickly. In "EPICAC", the love created is complicated since it is built off mainly lies. The reason why the love was created, was because the narrator pretended that he made poems when really he stole them from EPICAC. The narrator says, "I signed my names to your poems", which shows that he willingly lied to get his way. This is what caused Pat to fall in love with him which is why their relationship is built off of lies. Inconclusion, both texts express how the love present is complicated and fake.

Love is made complicated because when people really love they don't false actions. If there was actually was love there then people or characters wouldn't need to take any false actions. Like in the story "EPICAC" pat really doesn't love the narrator she just loves the thought of him because of the poems EPICAC made. All the narrator did was sign them and acted like they were his. She really loved EPICAC because they were his poems from the start. In paragraph 54 it states "If you promise to write me a poem on every anniversary." This shows that Pat wanted a poem every years because she liked the poems. She had only married him because of how the poems were written. In A Midsummer Nights Dream they have false actions to pursue love because Robin and Oberon are putting a position in Lysander, Demetrius, and Titania to get them to fall in love with something or someone. Like in (2.2.120) it says "Not Hermia , but Helena I love." This shows that because of the position Lysander falls in love with Helena since his eyes looked at her first. That shows that lovers undertake false actions to pursue love.

Love is extremely complicated especially when Oberon in A Midsummer's Night Dream
makes love very confusing. Oberon starts out by talking about the love flower which is suppose to make you fall in love with the first person you lay eyes on after putting a drop in your eye. Well.... this all goes to chaos when Robin gives it to the wrong person (Lysander). Then it gets more chaotic when Oberon and Robin try to fix it by giving it to Demetrius. This makes love VERY complicated and it makes Oberon's and Robins false actions to help them to pursue ''true" love between Lysander, Demetrius, Hermia, and Helena!
