The 1980's were a decade of highs and lows for video games and it was the second decade in the industry. The decade began in the midst a boom in the arcade business with giants like Atari still dominating the market since the late-1970's. An oversaturation of third party games, the rising influence of the personal computer, and a lack of quality in the games themselves lead to an implosion of North American video game market that nearly destroyed the industry. It took home consoles years to recover from the crash, but Nintendo filled in the void with its Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), reviving interest in consoles.Up until this point, most investors believed video games to be a fad that has since passed. In the remaining years of the decade, Sega ignites a console war with Nintendo,developers that have been affected by the crash experiment with the superior graphics of the PC, and Nintendo also releases the Game Boy, which would become the best-selling handheld gaming device for the upcoming decades.

Third Generation consoles Started in 1983 the third generation began with the Japanese release of the Nintendo Family Computer. They were 8 bit processors but sega introduced the 16 bit processors. But Nintendo was dominating the game world.

4 Gen consoles

16 bit era was upon the gaming world. There were mostly 2D world but had 3D world. Even though 3D was mostly on computer gaming. Also cd were brought into the gaming world. 1988 sega mega was introduced as well as the gameboy in 1990. This started the gaming war

5 gen consoles

1993 to 2002 were the 32/64 bit era game systems. Also they were 3D world that attracted everyone to the gaming world. Nintendo 64, Playstation, and Dreamcast were the companies of this era. Playstation and Dreamcast went to CDs as Nintendo stayed with cartridges. These consoles would end up as six generation with just Playstation 2.

Video games are amazing to me. Also I been playing video games since I was four. I started out with the 4 and 5 gen consoles. They got me into gaming and now were on Ps4. Ive been blessed to have experienced of all 4 gens of playstations.

My favorite game

Socom was my favorite game. It was created by zipper inc in 1996 which are shutdown now but they had a great run. Only reason why they had short run was people did not like the third person tatical shooting game like I did. Also the consumers switched to the games we play now because they promoted the games and all the other systems had the same one this game was only playstation. Anyways I was blessed to play socom wish it was still here.
