Augustus Edwin John, was a Welsh painter and printmaker.
The first work of his career as an artist was inspired by Rembrandt. Most of his works were portraits, characterized by great vitality and deep psychological analysis.
John portrays many of his famous contemporaries, such as Thomas Hardy, Yeats, George Bernard Shaw, James Joyce, and Isabel II; according to most critics the best of his portraits is what he performed from Welsh poet Dylan Thomas.
During World War I, he was attached to the Canadian forces as a war artist and made a series of memorable portraits of the Canadian infantry.

Relief: The relief of Gles Parents is quite distinct depending on the region. It is in the north where finding the highest elevations, Ben Nevis, for example, is the highest point in the country, about 1,343 meters high and is located in the north of the country. In fact, it is in Welsh territory where we see the main geological fabrics, of mountains, although these rarely reach high altitudes, even depressions.
Geology: Afon Aber is a creek located in Gwynedd, entering Liverpool Bay on the north Wales coast. Climb the Carneddau Mountains in the northern basins of Drum, Foel Fras and Garnedd Uchaf together to the east hydrographic basins of Drosgl and Moel Wnion.
Climate: Ocean climate with a mild summer (from 15° C to 18° C) and a cool winter and, on occasions, cold (5° C) that lasts for a few weeks. The rains are regular all year round in Wales and are plentiful in winter (December and January). The climate is rainier in the high areas (3 meters, snow in winter) than on the plateau (1 meter). In Wales, time often varies over the same day.
Vegetation: Temperate forest, with trees that lose leaves at once, known as deciduous, have already been a large majority in the past, today being rarer throughout the region, mostly present in nature reserves. The undergrowth arises in the northern plateaus, with grasses and other plants of the type.
Hydrography: Afon Aber is a creek located in Gwynedd, entering Liverpool Bay on the north Wales coast.

Wales is one of four parts of the United Kingdom, a country in western Europe. The other three parts of the United Kingdom are England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The people of Wales are Welsh, and their specific language has the same name.
Wales is located in the southwest part of the island of Great Britain. It borders England to the east, and on the other three sides is surrounded by stretches of sea that form part of the Atlantic Ocean.
Welsh can trace their origins to the Celts. These formed the people who lived in the region for thousands of years. The Welsh language comes from the language of the Celts. About one fifth of the population speaks Welsh. English is the other main language. Schools teach both English and Welsh.
The Celts already lived in Wales in prehistoric times. The Romans invaded it in the first century and came to call the Celts Breton. Roman rule ended around the year 400. Then several new Celtic kingdoms were formed. The English called the Britons Welsh.

The Romans built forts in Wales, and left historical and cultural marks there. At Caerleon, they built a beautiful fortress, the site of Britain's best-kept and best-preserved amphitheater. The country was never invaded by the Anglo-Saxons, due to its people, who had a great desire to protect their lands, and due to the mountainous terrain that prevented the passage. Wales remained Celtic and its people continued to speak the Welsh language even after the Celtic elements of neighboring England and Scotland gradually disappeared. The name Wales is proof of this, as it comes from a Germanic word meaning foreign and is thus related to the names of several other European regions where the Germanic peoples came into contact with non-Germanic cultures.

England's conquest of Wales did not happen in 1066, when England was conquered by the Normans, but it was gradual, extending to 1282, when King Edward I of England invaded the country and defeated Llywelyn ap Gruffydd, the last prince. independent of Wales. Edward built a series of large stone castles to keep the Welsh under control. The best known are in Caernarfon, Conwy and Harlech. Wales was legally annexed by the Union Decree of 1536 during the reign of Henry VIII of England.
