         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>The Great Depression lasted from&nbsp;<strong>1929 to 1939.</strong></li><li><strong>The World Trade</strong>&nbsp;collapsed during the Depression and did not return at full&nbsp;<strong>until after 1939.</strong></li><li><strong>President Hoover</strong>&nbsp;was largely blamed for the Depression.</li><li>A poor version of soup was called "<strong>Hoover Soup</strong>" and communities of shacks were called "<strong>Hooverville</strong>".</li><li>However,&nbsp;<strong>President Roosevelt</strong>&nbsp;blamed "unscrupulous money lenders" and a "generation of&nbsp;<strong>self-seekers</strong>".</li><li>Roosevelt created the<strong>&nbsp;New Deal</strong>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<strong>1935.</strong></li><li>The New Deal made<strong>&nbsp;taxes on the wealthy higher</strong>&nbsp;and gave<strong>&nbsp;jobs to the unemployed.</strong></li><li><strong>6 of the 8</strong>&nbsp;ambitions created by the New Deal were considered "<strong>unconstitutional</strong>".</li></ul>]]></description>
