Parental involvement was my favorite PowerPoint presentation because it highlighted the important role families play in a child's education. The numbers showed how engaged parents can improve student performance and motivation. I loved the examples of effective strategies that schools can use to involve parents, like workshops and volunteer opportunities. It was inspiring to see how strong partnerships between parents and teachers can help students learn better. Overall, when parents get involved, it helps everyone!

I did my ever first Teaching Practice at West End Primary, in Mitchells Plain. What an experience! I loved the dynamics of the school and what they strive for as a school.

Classroom Project

During my teaching practice, for their class project, the learners cut and pasted a simple plant. They cut and pasted the roots, which helps the plant drink water. Then, they made the stem to hold the leaves. Next, they added green leaves that catch sunlight. Finally, they glued on colourful flowers. The learners had fun learning about how plants grow.

I created a big book for one of my English modules. It is a poem about the Big Five animals. Each page has a stanza about a different animal. I used colourful pictures to match the stanzas . We had to create it because we had to act like we at an underprivileged school where there is no resources at all. Making the big book was a fun project.

Teaching Practice

On the first day of teaching practice, I felt excited and a little nervous. I entered the classroom and greeted the students. We did some fun activities to get to know each other. I introduced myself and shared my interests. The students were eager to participate and ask questions. I enjoyed learning about what they like. By the end of the day, I felt more confident and ready for the next day.
