Communication with the Instructor: Communication with the instructor was pretty easy, she responded a little bit late but everyone has things to do throughout their day-to-day life so its understandable.

Assignments: Overall, assignments were engaging and relevant to the course topics. They provided a good opportunity to apply concepts learned in class. However, clearer grading rubrics would have been beneficial to understand expectations better.

Social Problems class was relatively straightforward due to the structured curriculum and clear assignments. However, the complexity of analyzing various social issues and their interconnections required careful attention and critical thinking.

It was easy to communicate with the instructor because when I needed help she was there to reply when she had time and it was very helpful. 

How did I feel about the assignments?

I felt positive about the assignments on social problems because they were well structured and offered clear guidelines. This clarity made it easier to dive deeply into the issues and connect theoretical concepts with real-world examples. The assignments not only helped me understand the complexities of social problems but also allowed me to develop critical thinking and analytical skills.

I never had to communicate with my Instructor but I believe it wouldn't be hard to do so.

I felt really good about the assignments, it helped me learn a lot more about societal problems today and I really enjoyed learning about society.

I feel like the assignments were understandable and related heavily to our topics which I like. I like how we were able to contribute our own thoughts and opinions to the DB posts and that we has several chances for choosing answers.

The course was easy and self-explanatory. The instructions were clear and examples were given as a guide. I enjoyed taking this class because it helped me understand more about society.

The assignments helped me to understand each topic better because I had to look up and read articles. I found a lot of information online about the diverse topics discussed in class. They are important to know because it gives me a better understanding of how society affects people’s lives.

This course was easy to navigate because everything was straightforward and detailed, I didn't have to go out my way too much or have to email you because I was confused.

I loved the assignments, Each one has me deeply intrigued way more then I could have ever expected.

It was very easy to communicate with the instructor. If I had any questions, I would message her and ask for her feedback.

The assignment were really easy to complete. It wasn't too much or too little. And also it wasn't too much for me to get back up. If I wanted to, I could finish the week assignments in a day.

This course was extremely easy to navigate, which has been one of my favorite things of the course. All of the modules were very organized and all of the assignments that were due were not hard to find.

It was very easy to communicate with the instructor. Whenever I had a doubt or a concern about any assignment, she would respond to me quickly and answer my questions in an easy to understand manner.

How did I feel about the assignments?

The assignments were great in my opinion because they were easy to follow and understand with straightforward instructions. The assignments also made me think deeper about all the different types of social problems by trying to offer examples at all times making the assignments great.

The course was not too hard but not too easy to navigate. I only had trouble with the fast pacing of it but other than that I found the assignments and quizzes straightforward and easily understandable.

It was very easy to communicate with the instructor as the instructions on homework and exams were straightforward to follow. 

• How did I feel about the assignments?

The assignments were very interesting as they gave me a better understanding of topics that have impacted today's society. I liked that I had a chance to also look at other student's posts and thoughts about these problems. 

2).It was easy to communicate with the professor whenever I had trouble with comprehending the assignments she responded within a 24 hour time frame.

3).I felt the assignments were easy to complete especially when it evolved around a topic I can relate to such as sexism, poverty etc and the impacts it has on individuals as prices continue to rise in California.

I loved how this course was set up because it has been one of the easiest to navigate. The modules made it really easy to understand what was expected of students weekly. It also helped that the assignments were the same every week with just different topics. This made managing my workload a lot better, and I had very little stress when thinking about this course. The syllabus and materials were well-organized, and the modules helped me stay on top of things.

I did not have to contact Dr. Ortiz throughout the semester, but that just goes to show how well she did setting up the class. It was as straightforward as can be, and I felt on track most of the times. If I ever did have any questions, the information provided in the modules would clear it up for me.

• How did I feel about the assignments?

I felt good about the assignments. I have taken a Sociology class with Dr. Ortiz in the past, and she always does an excellent job delivering the material. It is taught in a way that students can easily retain the information and not have to worry about doing poorly on the assignments. I mentioned this above, but I appreciate how the assignments were the same layout each week with just different topics. It made it significantly easier to plan for the week ahead and know what assignments I should get out of the way first and which ones I would need to spend a little more time on.

All in all, this was a great course taught by an amazing professor, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to take this course with Dr. Ortiz. Thank you for a great semester everyone!

How easy/difficult was this course to navigate?

This was a very easy class to navigate. Everything for the week was right there it wasn't any pop up assignments in the middle of the week which made my life way easier. I know exactly what was expected from me from the beginning.

I never had to connect the instructor but that was only because she made this class exceptional. Everything was clear and organized. Thank You summer classes are hectic enough but you eased the stress with this class.

I felt great about the assignments. They were straight forward and easy.

  I liked the assignments they were easy yet still engaging and allowed me to fully express what I had learned. Although there were quite a few assignments it wasn't a heavy workload as they were all easy to do.

I felt really good about all the assignments, I really enjoyed doing them because they were easy to do but at the same time really useful to learn more.

This course was super easy to navigate, all the assignments were there and the due dates were clear. It was easy to communicate with the instructor because she always responded in time. I felt good about the assignments, they really made me think about stuff I had never thought about before and were really eye opening, especially the global perspective included in each chapter.

I did not have a reason to contact to Dr. Ortiz but I felt that I was given many resources and that it would be easy to reach out if necessary. Lastly, I really liked the assignments. The videos were really helpful and well-explained, and the quizzes helped review the content. I only would suggest to maybe break up the sociological analyses to complete the parts 1-3 for each unit separately upon completing that week's content.

I felt engaged but not overwhelmed with 10+ assignments. They were on interesting topics too. I loved this course!

I didn't make any contact with the professor, but she would send check-ins each week, so I would imagine she's good at responding to emails.

I think the assignments were all pretty easy. If I didn't complete one, it was mostly my own fault for being lazy or having no time as I didn't find any assignment challenging.

The assignments were generally engaging and thought-provoking. I found them challenging in a good way, pushing me to think critically and apply what I learned. Some assignments required deeper research and more time management, but they ultimately helped me understand the material better.

Dr. Ortiz communicated with the class on a regular basis. I appreciated that from her because it let us know that she is available to assist and support us if we need it.

The assignments helped me learn so much and explore crucial topics that our society faces on a daily basis. This class inspired me to keep continuing my educational goals and encouraged me to get involved in social issues to help make a difference.

• Although my communication with you was quite limited I am confident should the need had arouse it would not have been an issue.

• I work full time , have a family and chronic medical issues and even as a summer term this was quite manageable.

1. This course was not hard to navigate at all. I have been an online student for a while now and I only have two semesters left, so I am use to using canvas and other this that are provided from Delta which I have enjoyed because it has been made easy for us students and if help is needed there are many options like contacting you as a professor or many other resources that are needed.

2. I did not find it hard to contact you as my professor when I have had a hard time in the course because I have been made aware of what is expected of me in the syllabus and every week with a weekly reminder, and if help was need you as my professor got back promptly so that I was not kept waiting.

3.The assignments that were required of me were very informative and I enjoyed the material because it pertained to the everyday life that us as a community go through because things are not going to easier they are only going to get harder and many times that we are reminded with different resources it will help us get through the day and the years that we need to survive and take care of ourself.

This course was super easy to navigate. Everything I needed to complete my assignments was very engaging and simple to locate. I loved how the course was structured and appreciated the idea that it was asynchronous.

2.) If I'm being honest, I didn't reach out to Professor Ortiz for any questions. This course was really well-made that I didn't need any guidance.

3.) The assignments were all easy and straightforward. I found them easy and the coursework was not too much either.

It was pretty easy to communicate with the professor. I did have to message her once about an assignment and she responded within the day.

The only downside for me was the assignments. Mainly how many there were and how time consuming they are. I’m taking other classes so having 3 30 minute lectures on top of quizzes and other assignments wasn’t ideal. Nonetheless the assignments themselves weren’t too difficult just time consuming.

I thought it was very easy. I went to summer camp earlier this summer and Mrs. Ortiz was accommodating for me and my situation.

As the semester comes to an end, I’ve taken some time to reflect on my experience in Sociology 1b. Overall, I found the course fairly easy to navigate. The syllabus was clear, and the weekly modules were well-organized, which made it straightforward to know what was expected and when assignments were due. Occasionally, some topics felt dense, but the materials and readings helped clarify complex ideas. Communication with the instructor was smooth and supportive. Whenever I had questions or needed clarification, the instructor responded promptly and clearly, which made me feel valued and encouraged to participate. This open communication greatly enhanced my learning experience.

Regarding the assignments, I appreciated how they encouraged critical thinking and applied real-world examples, especially the discussion boards and the research projects. Some assignments were challenging but pushed me to engage deeply with the content, which I found rewarding. However, at times, balancing the workload alongside other courses was difficult, but overall the assignments were meaningful and relevant.

In summary, the course was well-structured, the instructor was approachable, and the assignments helped me grow my understanding of sociology. I feel better equipped to analyze social issues and look forward to applying this knowledge moving forward.

The class was easy to navigate. Although new to the Canvas platform the instruction included it the welcome modules and syllabus helped tremendously.

Communication with Dr Ortiz went very well.  All questions were answered in a timely manner. The instructions for the various modules were clearly written.

The class materials were very enlightening. As an older student the material and subject made me think and compare. A lot of my early education ignored many of the subjects. It is refreshing to have gained a different insight to the social issues facing our society.  

I liked the class overall and thought the content was interesting and easy to follow. It didn’t feel overwhelming at all, and I felt like I could keep up as long as I stayed on top of the work.
