It started up with the king of Amer called for the initial craftsmen from Manoharpur district of Uttar Pradesh. 
Then these craftsmen shifted from Amer to Jaipur, the lane is dotted with countless bangle selling shop mostly managed by Muslim Manihari women's while their men's are away at kiln and furnace melting and preparing raw material outside the shop.

We saw a  woman working on lac bangles and decided to spend some time interacting about her profession. She was a woman with a jolly personality, 20 years old and seen her family working with lac ever since her childhood. They have in fact been working with lac bangles from generations. The art is being passed on in family for generations and they like what they do, she said. On asking about the younger generation, she said, “Children at our home are very keen on learning but they are way too young to work with hot lac.   • The process of obtaining Lac is carried out in large mud kilns. Semisolid lac is placed on hot metal plate coated with layer of oil, which prevents it from sticking to the plate.
  • These semisolid dough are then rolled in wooden poles, and once these poles are dried it is ready to make bangles out of it. 
  • The ladies generally manage with the singular stove with the metal plate on top and handmade wooden batons and tweezers within the shop.
  • Rollers pins are used to flatten the length of the solid poles an draw sheets , slender strips are rolled into a bangle like shape 
  • The dimensions of these bangles are adjusted by mild heating on the stove and gentle molding over wooden batons of various dimensions 
  • It is interesting to  observe the lac bangles once broken can easily be rejoined by mild heating.

    and new materials are coming in which are comparatively cheap as they are industrially produced 
    therefore it become very difficult for them to earn and earn their livelihoodwhich leads them discontinuing the craft.
