First of all, it is about not caring for riches and wealth because as long as you have each other you will be happy however Daisy broke off her earlier relationship with Jay because he did not have enough money. The song is symbolic because Great Gatsby is about enjoying life and having a more pleasure seeking attitude.

It symbolizes Gatsby's love for Daisy. He believes Tom was never meant to marry her and that Daisy was his all along. Gatsby thought he could win back Daisy's heart with his riches and reputation. He gets caught up in his head with that belief.

This song relates to Jay and Daisy. Daisy didn't marry Jay five years before because he didn't have money. Now she is married to a man named Tom who is very rich and provides Daisy with a luxurious lifestyle. Gatsby was so wrapped up in this love for her that she never had for him. He was given many signs that prove that money is all she wants for a good relationship. But still, like Kanye, he fell for a gold digger. This song relates to Fitzgerald's song "Ain't we got fun" because it has the complete opposite morals. This relates to the song "Sheik of Araby" because each song displays great levels of narcissism. "I'm Too Sexy" would also set the mood in that scene of the novel. Gatsby becomes caught up with the thought that he is perfect for Daisy and that she would most definitely marry him.

The song Fitzgerald chose, "Love Nest", is about having a simpler life. Michael Buble's song relates with Love Nest because both places resemble "home".
