         <description><![CDATA[<div>If a patient is suspected of having polio, immediate hospitalization is required, along with a physical exam.<br><br>Medical histories are also required, which include:<br>-Vaccination history<br>-Travel history&nbsp;<br><br>Samples required to be collected for analysis:<br>-Stool (Polio is most commonly found here)<br>-throat swab<br>-blood<br>-urine<br>-spinal fluid<br><br>MRIs may also be required to look at the spinal cord.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Most people who are infected will be asymptomatic.<br><br>One in four will experience flu-like symptoms, including:<br>-Sore Throat<br>-Fever<br>-Lethargy<br>-Headache<br>-Stomach pain and Nausea&nbsp;<br><br>These symptoms will typically go away after no longer than five days.<br><br>There is a slight chance to develop more serious diseases such as:&nbsp;<br>-Meningitis, infection of the spinal cord (Approximately 1-5% of people)<br>-Paralysis (Around 0.5 - 0.05%) however, about 2-10% of paralysis caused by Polio will be fatal due to the muscles of the airway being affected.<br><br></div>]]></description>

IPV has been used only in the united states since the 2000s, often given as an injection, location depends on the patients age.<br>-Oral poliovirus vaccine (IOV). Used around the world.<br><br>The vaccine is an active immunization agent that works by causing the production of antibodies against poliovirus.<br><br>Other prevention methods include hygiene, such as washing hands.<br>Hand sanitizers will NOT kill poliovirus.<br><br></div>]]></description>
