The Black Death damages the Lymphatic system. This can lead to swollen lymph nodes, pain in the abdomen or muscles, coughing blood, fever, chills, fatigue, or malaise. Some more symptoms include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, bleeding, delirium, headache, phlegm, and shortness of breath.
Of course death was another thing that was very common with the Black Death. Most people infected died within 2-7 days after being infected!

Did you know, there is a theory that claims Ring around the Rosie was made during and based off of the Black Death? Let's take a look at the lyrics:

Ring around the rosie - Sometimes if you caught the plague your body could have red bumps that were surrounded by ring shapes.

A pocket full of posies - This could refer to the herbs and plants people would carry because of how unsanitary the air was. Also posies were a common flower put in coffins to make them smell good.

Ashes! Ashes! - This refers to a symptom of the disease where victims would internally hommerhage. The term ashes is what children called a paroxysm of sneezing which is like reverse sneezing.

We all fall down! - Symbolizes all the death during the Black Death.

However, though the Black Death and this nursery rhyme seem to have a connection, historians are still not sure if they are indeed based off one another.

The Black Death was spread by oriental fleas living on black rats. Most black rats were regular passengers on merchant ships. This means the rats were moved throughout the Mediterranean in Europe spreading the disease to more and more people. Also due to climate change many of these black rats migrated to more populated areas.

At the time, the people believed the Black Death was caused by unsanitary air and they thought it was airborne. They didn't really know much about the plague and they definitely didn't have a working cure.

However, plague doctors would still treat patients, even if their methods didn't work. Plague doctors would use the tactic of bloodletting on patients. They would also use things like cooked onions, ten-year-old treacle, arsenic, crushed emeralds, fumigating your house with herbs, telling patients to sit in the sewers, or to sit in a room between two enormous fires.

Plague doctors wore strange outfits to protect themselves from catching the so called "airborne" disease. The outfit or costume consisted of a wax overcoat, a cane and a mask. The cane was used so the doctor could avoid making direct contact with the patient. The mask had glass eye openings, and a long beak that was filled with herbs and spices.
