This Hello Magazine (H-M) 'biography' on Brand is presented on the 'H-M profile's' website section. The profile utilises direct quotes from Brand to illustrate his childhood and early life. The profile first depicts the struggles that Brand endured within his early life through the absence of his farther and the medical issues of his mother. Through this depiction the article later links these parental issues into Brand' struggling mental and physical health (depression/bulimia), and his expulsion (due to substance use) from a 'prestigious' theatre 'Italia Conti' school. This depiction of Brand's childhood plays into Brand's persona as an underdog. The documentation of these experiences coincided with the fact that Brand was accepted into a 'prestigious theatre school' provides a contextual understanding that despite all the adversity Brand had experienced, he still possessed a level of talent. It also presents his childhood an unorthodox route to being classed as a media celebrity.

This article reviews the show 'Better Now' which Brand toured on the Edinburgh Comedy Festival circuit. The content of the routine covered Brand's Heroin addiction. The routine itself represents a key part of Brand's persona and how he uses honesty about events within his own life to curate an image of authenticity. This was a perfect choice of act when considering the wider contextual details of Brand's career in 2004. After being fired by MTV for dressing as Osama Bin Laden on 12th of September 2001, Brand needed to curate a routine that would indirectly address this controversy within a light hearted manner whilst also making it clear within a public sphere that he was addicted to substances such as heroin.

The second chapter in this source named 'Stand Up Comedy' analyses the 'signature practices' that Brand has adopted within various stand up acts throughout his career ranging from 2004 to 2013. The chapter notes that 'signature practices' adopted within Brand's comedy have a correlation with Brand's media identity. This correlation has subsequently led to the perception of Brand's media image in the 2000's to adopt both 'comic performer' and 'controversial celebrity'. The two of these images thus presented brand as a controversial figure which was subsequently utilised as apart of his multi media branding.

Brand biography covers a range of topics throughout his life and media career (up to 2007). This Brand's first released book and started the formation of his identity within the media as it outlined details about his personal life/childhood and early career. The video referenced shows Brand reflecting on the book stating that he feels it captured his outlooks and personality perfectly for the time as Brand states in the video "it captures a little smacked junkie's life". The interesting aspect of the book is that Brand hadn't been classed as famous for long in 2007 however he had lived an out of the ordinary life through his family life, drug use, and mental health issues. This represents effectively how Brand's early eccentric image was commercialised and built around his out of the ordinary childhood and route to stardom.
