Visual learners remember and learn what they see the most. This could include videos and pictures, but it doesn’t have to. Visual learners do well with spatial reasoning, charts, graphs, etc. Often, they “see” words as pictures or other objects in their head, and they often use their right brain to process information. One of the many benefits of being a visual learner is that the human brain processes visual information much faster than plain text. As a visual learner, you can take in and retain a lot of information really quickly because you prefer this processing method that humans are already very good at.When studying and learning, visual learners prefer the use of maps, outlines, diagrams, charts, graphs, designs, and patterns. When taking notes, these students are more likely to organize their notes into visual patterns. They might use charts or diagrams; they might separate their page of notes into different sections. Many visual learners also do well with color coding their notes with different colored pens or highlighters.

This means that the learner is encouraged by the teacher to become responsible for their learning (active learners). This might be a difficult message but the teacher can gradually extend the student's role in learning by:
- Getting students to try out new language (by speaking).
- Getting them to investigate a grammar issue rather than having an explanation by the teacher.
- Making them look for the meanings of words and its uses instead of telling them what the words mean.
- Sending homework or encouraging students to use monolingual learner's dictionaries.
Teachers will improve student autonomy helping them to be responsible for their learning by showing them where they can continue studying outside the classroom for instance by giving them materials like suitable websites.

Language learning has traditionally involved a teacher and a student or students being in the same physical space. However, access to the Internet has helped to bring about new virtual learning environments in which students can learn even when they are miles away from a teacher or other classmates.

Virtual learning is really different from face-to-face classes for 2 main reasons:
- First of all, students can attend lessons when they mostly want to, rather than when lessons are scheduled, as in schools.
-Second, it no longer matters where the students are since they can log in from anywhere in the world.

One problem with real and virtual learning environments is the fact that STUDENTS NEED TO BE MOTIVATED . Thus, the best virtual learning sites have online tutors who interact with their students through email or online chat forums.
Groups of students are also created who follow the same program online and therefore can "talk" to each other in the same way.
But despite these interpersonal elements, some students find it more difficult to stay motivated online than as part of a real learning group.

Adolescent students have a great capacity for learning, enormous potential for creative thought and a passionate commitment to thinghs which interest them.

> Building rapport with teens is essential for success. We can use the first minutes of class to engage informal conversation about their lives.

> We can do an online survey at the beginning of the year in order to know our students' interests and then use the popular topics chosen by them in our planning.

> At certain point of the year, we can let students choose what tool to use to make a presentation on a specific topic.

> As teens get bored easily, we have to vary topics, types of tasks, etc. So, for example, we can change the order in which we normally do things and come up with unexpected, original task to breakdown classroom routine.

This type of learners prefer to have a private class on their own and their teacher. With a one-to-one learning environment:
* The student is able to communicate open and honestly with his or her instructor.
*The instructor is more committed to listen and give them the help and attention they need. This make the student feel that he or she is heard.
*The teacher is able to check the student's progress from time to time.
*Thanks to this intimate climate of this type of class, children do not worry about their peers and feel more judgment-free. This allows them to build their confidence so they can simply ask the teacher for further clarification whithout any student pressure.
