A natural disaster is a major event due to natural forces such as earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, and wildfires. An anthropogenic disaster is the opposite, in which a major event happens due to human action (nuclear blasts, oil spills, explosions). Natural disasters cannot be avoided entirely since it's just a force of nature, but certain steps can be taken to decrease impacts; anthropogenic disasters can be avoided through prevention methods.
