2nd peer comment on communication article: feedback sandwich

Hi Joshua,

I believe that too many people use the feedback sandwich making it ineffective just like you said. I reflected me TTESS observation to determine if my principal used the feedback sandwich during my final conference. She did not use the feedback sandwich on me. My principal requested my thoughts during the entire conference. She would ask me for my thoughts on an area. After I told her my thoughts, she would tell me what she saw during the observation. She would then ask me if I agree with her thoughts and if she missed anything that would have changed her thoughts. I felt like this conference allowed me to freely discuss with her my thoughts and reasons for actions during my observation. I felt like she wanted to make sure I get credit for things that I do in my classroom instead of trying to find things that I did wrong in my classroom. This type of conference helped me open up to listen to her suggestions. I think leaders need to be aware of the feedback sandwich results so that they can change their approach to allow for better conferences with their employees. Thanks again for sharing, Crystal Berry
