What is the average education, qualifications or degree level required in each of the industries?

#1: Biotech:A 4-year bachelor's program often includes significant lab training in addition to lecture and didactic courses. Some schools offer undergraduate concentrations, such as ecology or molecular biology. Students study cell biology, genetics, physiology and chemistry. A master's degree can usually be earned in two years, and many schools allow students to structure the curricula to a particular interest. Common courses include molecular biology, biochemistry, advanced cell biology and biological evolution.
Biologists and other scientists have assistants, or biotechnicians, to help them with laboratory work. They work with computers and numerous scientific equipment, so accuracy and astute observation are most important.

#2: Biomedical:A master's degree will be necessary if you'd like to work on more advanced research projects or teach at a community college or technical school. Some colleges and universities may hire those who hold a master's degree. However, most prefer those with doctoral degrees for tenure-track faculty positions. A doctoral degree may also prepare you to lead and manage a major research and development project. For that level of research, you should plan to major in chemical, mechanical or electrical engineering and specialize in biomedical engineering.

#3: Wireless & Software Technology: A bachelor's degree is the minimum education required of a computer engineer. Most employers require students to hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer programming, computer engineering, computer information systems, electrical engineering, or a similar computer-related field. Employers have a strong preference for graduates with computer programming skills and a familiarity with a range of programming languages.
Most computer software development jobs require bachelor's degrees in computer science or software engineering. These programs have significant math requirements that include a sequence in calculus, differential equations, and linear algebra. A sequence in physics is also required. Students typically complete these requirements in the first two years of a program.

#4: Defense: All branches of the Armed Forces require their members to be high school graduates or have equivalent credentials. Officers usually need a bachelor’s degree. Some officers entering the service may need to have education beyond a bachelor’s degree. For example, officers entering as military lawyers need a law degree.

Those who want to become an officer have several options to meet the education requirements, including the aforementioned federal service academies (Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine), the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) programs, Officer Candidate School (OCS), and other programs.

#5: Maritime: Students who plan to go on to graduate school might complete undergraduate electives in aquaculture, biotechnology, environmental biology, molecular biology, toxicology, and species-specific biology. Additionally, they might take part in volunteer work or an internship to develop valuable practical skills.
Students who plan to specialize in a marine plant species, like plankton, also should research which graduate schools have faculty with the same interest. It would be difficult, or impossible, for a student to learn about marine plant life in an institution with faculty that primarily teaches animal marine biology.

A graduate with a bachelor's degree in a biological science might find entry-level work with the Bureau of Land Management or the National Park Service as a biological aid or technician. He/she could also work in ocean management or policy for government agencies and non-profit organizations.

#6: Tourism: A 2-year associate program in hospitality and tourism provides students with the basic knowledge of the functions of the industry and how various segments operate. Students learn an array of skills, including managing hotel and foodservice staff, developing menus, or booking procedures for a cruise ship.

#7: Action Sports: No specific education level is required to be a professional sports athlete, but they are often discovered while competing in high school or college games. Most athletes learn about their sport and improve their athletic skills in school. It is a good idea for people interested in professional sports athletics to study weight training, nutrition and exercise selection.

Professional sports athletes need to have a competitive mindset, excellent hand-eye coordination, great motor skills, and a high level of physical fitness. They should also be able to deal with difficult physical and mental conditions and have to be able to maintain a high level of concentration and discipline while training and competing.

#8: Electrical Manufacturing: According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS, www.bls.gov), a bachelor's degree in engineering is a prerequisite for most engineering professions. Future manufacturing engineers should try to major in an area such as industrial engineering. For instance, the ABET-accredited industrial engineering program at Pennsylvania State University prepares students for careers in manufacturing engineering with course offerings in areas such as quality control, manufacturing process design, and manufacturing systems operations.

A bachelor's degree in engineering may be enough to gain entry-level employment as a manufacturing engineer. However, according to the BLS, a graduate degree is essential for engineers who would like to teach, conduct research, or obtain high-level, managerial positions. Obtaining a master's degree can also help manufacturing engineers learn about new technologies and theories.

Pennsylvania State University, for example, offers a practice-oriented Master of Science in Industrial Engineering with a concentration in manufacturing engineering. It also offers a theory-oriented Master of Science in Industrial Engineering with an emphasis on manufacturing engineering. Courses in the M.S. program cover topics in metal cutting theory, metal casting, and computer control of manufacturing systems. Students can choose a thesis or non-thesis option.

#9: Microbreweries: . Some employers may prefer hiring candidates that have a college diploma in an area such as brewery operations management or brewing; others may prefer to hire only candidates that have a university degree in an area such as management or business administration; while some employers may not take education into account at all, and strictly hire candidates with many years of experience in brewing.

#10: Cleantech: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or a Juris Doctor (JD). The JD is a postgraduate qualification, the bachelor is an undergraduate qualification. Further qualification is also available including a Masters of Law (LLM), Masters of Environmental Law, or a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). These further options are a good option for lawyers seeking more senior roles or a higher pay grade.

http://study.com/
