Morgan noticed and cleverly waited for Tarleton in a place perfect for his strategy. He ordered the troops go in three lines and they followed, hoping to slow them down long enough to make a decisive blow. Morgan's strategy was also invulnerable to flanking. When the two faced each other, Morgan shot some volleys at Tarleton's army and made his militia fall back to the final line on purpose. There, they all shot at the unsuspecting army going to the final line, with some volleys.
