There have been some stimulating discussions about the criticality of media research to inform policy, particularly concerning AI, social media, and platform capitalism — but at the same time, we can't rely solely on policy to make changes; greater widespread media literacy and grassroots resistance strategies may be more effective in both the short and long-term.

Surrounding the spectrum of brilliant, relevant, well curated presentations, I loved the community we created together. It was amazing - and necessary - to feel connected by a shared sense of injustice about today's digital media landscape. I feel hopeful for how these events can galvanise our responsible intentions - and like Nick C said - create solidarity in the face of widespread political, social and commercial adversity. I'm excited to see what excellent work everyone creates next and the fruitful collaborations that will emerge out of 50 Years of Media at Westminster!
