To incorporate the two different views into one composition, I imagined a person standing at the beginning of the path holding the flower as they walked along the path. To show depth and to accent the length of the path, I drew long grass strains along the elevated path that get smaller as they go farther from the flower. Looking back at my artwork from last year compared to now, there is a difference in skill level with the materials and my ability to use tools to their full capability to enhance my art. In drawing/ painting one, I was just introduced to materials such as oil pastel, graphite pencils, etc., but this year I was able to get more familiar with them and improve on my skills, which has shown throughout my art. A struggle that I had was with the ink resist. I had never used it before so I wasn't exactly sure how it worked. I didn't put enough oil pastel on drawing so the ink absorbed into the pastel and darkened all the colors. I used another material to rub over the areas I wanted the ink to come off of and it worked. I learned that when using ink resistant, you should put a heavy amount of oil pastel on areas you don't want the ink to go through.
