Stevie nicks, Kate bush, The Cure and Olivia dean.

My favourite songs are:

Hounds of love by Kate bush because I think the lyrics could have easily become a calm song, but the strength of her voice and the instrumentals behind it made it a really powerful song, it also has a personal meaning to me.

My other favourite is Dreams by Fleetwood Mac. It has a very catchy beat, however, it's the lyrics that make me love it so much. I think it is really cleverly written so that it sounds almost like a message.

I would love to see the cure live because i think their music is amazing and their live performances look great.

I would also love to see Olivia dean perform. I think her stage presence is incredible, you can see how much she enjoys performing her music and she gets really into what she's performing.

Singing wasn't invented, it has developed overtime. Some theories imply that singing evolved from mimicking the sound of birds during the Paleolithic period.

Where singing came from?

There is no origin country for singing, however, the first evidence of written music is the Hurrain song from Syria 3400 years.

Singing can be used in any genre of music, all famous singers have their own style of music they're known for.

What do you find interesting about the history?

I found the theory that singing started out by mimicking birds and the sounds of nature interesting.

I need to be more open with trying different notes and genres with my voice, I can't wait to experiment with different music and other people in the group.

the first studio session on Thursday went good me and Alfie had two hours going over some songs then the band joined and we all agreed on bittersweet symphony for our song.

I would love to make my own music, and in the future I would love to start releasing my music and do as many gigs as I can.

These are my aspirations because I see music as a form of expression and being able to perform and write songs feels very freeing.

I think experience is key to everything, so I plan on completing level 2 and 3 music at college. I'm also planning on performing outside of college to help grow my confidence, as well as posting on social media to help get my name out there. I would also like to meet new people within music and different venues to start getting experience in the industry.

I love this song because the lyrics have deep meaning to me, and the way it has been produced sounds very powerful.

It's a very fast song with 146 BPM. The drums stick out to me, I think they're what makes the song sound so tense and catchy.

The intro 'It's in the trees, it's coming' with the sudden beat of the drums makes the song sound more tense.

When shes singing the chorus, what catches my attention is how she is nearly shouting the lyrics, you can hear pure emotion.

That guitar riff opening the song is what i think makes it so memorable, it replays in my head constantly.

The drums help pick up the song and makes it more catchy, but, I love how when the drums come in its not to overpowering and still feels like her voice is leading the song.

In the chorus I think Stevie's voice feels hypnotizing, her voice is what brings the whole song together.

We performed bitter sweet symphony on Monday and it sounded great.

We tried doing a harmony during bitter sweet symphony and I think it went pretty well. I'm really happy about how well our new band gets a long, and how well we work with each other.

Roles and responsibilities:

- collaboration: producers need good collaboration skills to work easily with other artists.

- organisation: part of a producers job is organising studio time so they need to make sure they can plan out time suited to everyone. They also need to organise the project so everything gets done in time.

- mentorship: they need to make sure they can support their artists with support to complete their project. Sometimes they might talk about the meaning of the music to help understand what the project needs to be.

- arranging: producers need to arrange studio time and prepare the equipment needed for the project.

- managing: most of the time producers also take care of the money for studio sessions. So, they need to have good management skills to make sure they get paid correctly and also use their studio time efficiently.

- composing: producers need to confidently make records and be able to share their ideas on the music. They should also be able to tell when the song is finished and doesn't need adding too.

Nigel has worked with a lot of big names on famous records as well as smaller artists to help develop their music.

skills and characteristics:

• confidence- performers need to be able to confidently sing to different types of audiences

• flexibility- they have many different roles to take on and their work does not have set hours

• stamina- performers work long hours in studios and rehearsals so they need to have good stamina to keep going

• teamwork- performers will often collaborate with other artists and workers in the industry, so they need to have the ability to work well with others

• musicianship- music performers need to be very good at what they do and need to know when something doesn't sound right and needs changing

• critical- performers need to be able to take criticism from anyone and learn to grow from what they have been told

This performance is very well known, it's a very captivating performance to watch. All performers are dressed in black which makes the performance seem well rehearsed and put together. In the second half of the performance when Lindsey Buckingham joined Stevie Nicks, that was the part that made the show so memorable for me. They were both performing an emotional song whilst looking at each other, it felt very vulnerable almost like a piece of acting.

This is one of my favourite performances; the crowd is amazing and you can feel the atmosphere of the crowd just by watching it. In this performance the musicians are in their own clothes, there doesn't seem to be a set style for the show which makes it feel more laid back and relaxed. The way Dolores O'Riordan interacted with the crowd was what made the performance special, you can tell the crowd are loving the performance from their reactions.

Booth time on Thursday went well, me and Alfie had extra studio time and went over some covers. Then later with the band we rehearsed our cover song bitter sweet symphony and went over the harmonies which we've been struggling with, then we went over the original we've been working on and was changing up the lyrics and trying new things out.

A stage manager is the main organiser for theatre production, they organise the different teams and workers within the production.

Skills needed:

• organisation: they need to organise rehearsals time and personal schedules

• calm under pressure: in theatre things go wrong all the time such as people being ill last minute and having to find replacements, they need to handle difficult situations calmly and quickly

• communication: stage managers need good communication to organise theatre productions with other people in the industry

• handling props: managers need to plan what props are going to be used and make sure they are suited to the theme of the production

live performances-

Any worker should be wearing ear protectors to help prevent ear damage.

recording studios-

there shouldn't be any food or drink being used in a studio, if anything spills it can damage the equipment.

music festivals-

there needs to be no overlapping cables on stage, they also have to be tucked away on stage to prevent any accidents and damage to equipment.

I have learnt many things this term including: how to do a soundcheck, health and safety rules in recording booths and on stage, different roles in within the music industry and how to work well in a team.

Next project I need to improve my attendance to make sure I'm not missing anything important, I also want to try new things in rehearsals and expand my voice more and experiment what I can do.

I've enjoyed the rehearsal and performance time the most this term. I've loved getting to know everyone and getting to know everyones different musical talents and what they're interested in.
