Visual note taking best suits me because I especially takes notes on math subjects so, diagrams, graphs, and charts are helpful when I need to relate certain aspects or trends because I can visually see the trend and relation of those aspects in a given situation. I don't think that they help me learn more if I were to use regular Cornell notes or any other generic notes but it does make it easier to understand certain subjects.

-Edgardo V

It's hard for me to create a clear and neat page especially when what teacher is going a million miles per hour it seems.

I think I'm going to try to use Cornell note style to help keep me organized. Maybe include some images here and there but will stick with clean bullet points and clear ideas.

-Sarah W

One of my classes last semester had a somewhat Cornell Approach, however it had the right side transcribing the information and our own thoughts about the content on the left side. This was another way to reinforce the “why” of the information and the reason it’s relevant.

I used to draw frequently in association with the note content as well which is another approach, reinforcing the “what” of the content.

Finally formatting such as skipping lines is helpful, especially if needing to go back and add onto the previous section with more notes so that they can stay self-contained.

-ER

Out of the three note-taking strategies that we saw Cornell notes will be the most helpful for me. I have used this strategy before, and it has been really helpful in the past. I learn a lot and the format helps me keep my notes well organized. This is excellent for when I go back to them to clarify something or to study.

i have been using the Cornell notes strategy since high school and i love it! It makes it so easy to retain information when my notes are so organized. i can easily look back and see what my key terms/topics were and find everything with out shuffling through a bunch of papers. I even tend to do a similar style of notes with my math homework just to stay organized. My teachers seem to appreciate the organization too!

It's worked for me because it's a good way to organize the information. I'm the type of person that needs to look at something more than 1 time so any note taking strategy would help me I just like the way Cornell notes is set up.

You have to analyze the information you’re learning and you also must summarize, for example.

-Brenda A.
