My Learning Experience:

I am still learning every day the ins and outs of being a HubSub and being there for the kids. I had my very first wild day just this past Friday and I never felt so overwhelmed, confused, and lost. The kids were being physical with one another and there was crying going on for 3 hours. I asked what to do during these situations and the head teacher just told me that this was how it was every day. Something I learned from all of this is that if I give in to the crying, the child can take advantage of this and coax me to give them what they want. The child getting physical is something we can control and prevent; we just need to really keep an eye out for the kids we know that can be physical.

This is truly a great learning experience. In this moment of my life, I am working back-to-back with children's from the ages of 18 months to 2-year-old, to 3–5-year-olds. There was even a time when I was working with kids the ages from 6–12-year-old. In all of my learning experience, each child is truly different and unique in their own way. One thing I can take away from this all is that communicating with the child, sometimes in their language, is one of the ways to make the child feel comfortable. Another is to use facial expression as your face is kind of like your way of speaking to the child. It's also what they'll be looking at the whole time you're talking to them.

My proudest accomplishment this semester is taking this class. This was such a great opportunity for me, and it literally came at the right time. The universe knew I was looking for more learning experience and of how much this would help me, so they sent it my way. THANK YOU! But of course, nothing comes easy, so I started late instead of right away. This is exactly why I have to yet complete all of the required hours but hey at least I know what I'll be doing in the summer! To end this, a HUGE SHOUTOUT to Professor Veronika for being so sweet, understanding, and super communicative. I wouldn't have survived everything without her endless support and words of encouragement. THANK YOU! <33
