         <description><![CDATA[<div>Widely distributed in the boreal and northern regions of North America.<br>The wood of white spruce is used primarily for pulpwood and lumber for various construction, prefab houses, mobile homes, furniture, boxes and crates, and pallets. It also is used for house logs, musical instruments, and paddles.  Snowshoe hare eat the needles, bark, and twigs, and mice and voles the seedlings. Chipmunks, chickadees, nuthatches, cross bills, and pine siskins eat the seeds</div>]]></description>

In some areas, it was used as a medicine to treat colds and fevers, and has been proven to contain photochemical to kill staphylococcus.<br>Animals such as Reindeer and Caribou feed on lichen during the coldest periods of the season. </div>]]></description>
