I think the democratic rights is the most important in the charter of rights and freedom. This is because it helps us keep a good government. This section helps associate the people with the government more. For example, they help you choose the person that is going to lead you for the next 5 years by voting. You can also be the one to lead your country into the next 5 years. This also helps the community better if the people can help make it a better place. it also helps prevent an authoritarian government from happening in Canada

Tyler Rubigny

In my opinion the most Important section is no discrimination towards anybody no matter race or sex. This Is important as if we all accepted each other and didn’t discriminate then the world would have little to no crime. An example of how discrimination affects crime is how terrorist groups will attack anyone who stands against them. If they did not discriminate against the people they are terrorising then there wouldn’t be any to worry about. Another example is how people racially profile people. This can be looking at a certain race and thinking they are terrorists or looking at a certain race and thinking they are less important then your own. This would all be taken away if we could all get along and accept each other no matter race, religion, or sex. Last example would be governments around the world not allowing same sex marriage and instead charging people for it. If we had no discrimination towards same sex marriage then there would be a lot more people feeling comfortable to come out.

I believe that most important category in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms is the 6th category, equality rights. It is so, so important to be who you are no matter what and your equality rights make that possible. Everyone is the same and I believe no one is or should be treated with different rights. This section allows people to be protected by the law without fear of their race, religion, national/ethnic origin, colour, sex, age, and mental/physical abilities. This is a good thing for Canada because it is a reminder that you are free to be whoever you want to be or free to be whoever you don’t want to be, but most importantly, you’re free.

Gavin B Slot Out of all the charter of rights I think the equality right is the most important, smart, and helpful. Treating people equally is one of the best things we can do because when we treat people the same everybody can be part of the same group or team or classroom whatever the situation may be everybody can be included, and nobody is left out. By having different religion people being able to do the same stuff is great even it is not apart of their religion. It let’s people learn about different culture and learn other people’s way of life even if they have different colour skin. One of the greatest things in the world is accepting people who are homosexual or transgender. People think they are worse just because of what they like or what they are interested in. By having people accept people for who they are and not being fixated on how they look, what they like, or what they do is a great achievement.

Nobody can discriminate against them because they are people too no matter what race, colour, sex, physical ability age and ethnic or national origin. Everyone gets treated as “equal before and under the law”. This law doesn’t occur in most countries, everyone can fend for themselves and there are different rights judging by race or sexual orientation. Canada once was like that too but we realized that we are one of the nicest countries and nobody should feel left out.

Frank / B slot

This is the most important because with this in place the Prime Minister will be what the Majority of the people in Canada want. This is good because if North Korea had something like this they wouldn’t be stuck with the dictator Kim Jung Un as their leader. I also think that citizens of Canada shouldn’t be able to vote until they are 21 from 18 because the human brain isn’t developed yet. This is also a problem because these 18 year old kids don’t even know which government effects them most.

I believe that equality rights are the most important out of all the charter of rights, because without equality rights some people no matter what race, wouldn't be protected by law, because anybody law or under the law could discriminate, make wrong choices or believe something so true that it blinds the right decisions. Equality rights are very important to have, because some people are different and do express their difference, but others could be judgmental and don't understand equality, but this shouldn't matter because we are all equal. An example of a time in the past where some individuals of a race, were not following the law and anywhere that exact race would be seen the police of the law would abuse, arrest and and band them from neighborhoods in their city. Many people of that race are innocent, do not commit crimes, maybe have a different mind set, and possibly raised different. That's why we need equality right because discrimination, stereotyping, and judging should not be tolerated against races, religions, opinions, thoughts or living circumstances.

In my opinion, the most important section is the 6th section, the equality rights among these 10 sections. I believe that all people must be treated equally because if not, that can lead to a disaster. If people are not treated equally because of their gender, race, religion etc, they can start fighting against people discriminating them which can lead to a war. There is a possibility for a person to become bad, such as a terrorist because of how they are treated. If you think the opposite way, regardless of your religion, race, colour etc, you can work and live just like anybody else. If there are no discrimination against any people and everyone lives well together, all countries can all be peaceful and multicultural. Equality rights allows everyone to be equal, but there are some people who ignores this right and be judgmental and discriminate other people. The real-life example for this would be how in Canada, there are people discriminated because of their mental or physical ability etc. For example, when people are trying to apply for a job, people with disabilities have less possibility to be hired than people with no disability. Old people have less possibility than younger people to be hired. These are all happening even though there is the equality right. This is happening because of those who don’t care about the rights and this can lead to a terrible end. All in all, because of these reasons and facts, I believe the equality rights is the most important section.

I believe that equality rights is the most important category in the Charter of Rights and Freedom because it allows myself, you and everybody else be protected by the law without the fear of the peoples race, religion, ethnicity, colour, age, sex and disabilities. Without this section being created and people are not treated equally, it can lead to fighting and discriminating one another which can lead to a bigger issue, war. With equality rights already being a law, there are still so many people who aren’t treated equally especially people with disabilities. When people who have mental and or physical disabilities try to apply for a job, they have a much less possibility to be hired than people with no disabilities due to their condition. There are a lot of people who still protest for equality rights with equality rights already being a law because there are still a lot of people who tend to forget, not care, and ignore this. We all need to remind ourselves and other people to treat people equally no matter what their religions, ethnicities, colour, race, etc. are.

I think this because everyone deserves to be treated equally and not be discriminated against for race, religion, national or ethnic origin, gender, etc. Equality rights are important because if we didn’t have them, people could be denied certain things or opportunities for things such as race, gender, religion, etc. A specific example could be someone getting denied a job because of a disability. I have not personally seen very many disabled people in a workplace and in some cases, I think it is because of discrimination. If we didn’t have equality rights in the charter of rights, discrimination would be so much more common because there would be no law saying people can’t do that. We are also a country with a very large number of immigrants and we need to all be able to coexist and treat each other equally.

😊Krish Patel😊D-Slot In my opinion, I think that the most important section is having Equality Rights. In Canada, everyone deserves to be treated equally. If the society applies Equality Right in their everyday life, then everyone will live peacefully with each other and everyone will treat other the way they want to be treated. If people don’t have Equality Rights then many people will be discriminated due to there race, gender, or religion. If society doesn’t apply Equality Rights then many people will be discriminated, and they maybe become rebellious and start doing illegal crimes in the society. This can lead to wars, violent strikes, and even death of citizens. As the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom states that we all should have Equality Right. However, is it true? I believe that this is fallacious because many disabled people either mentally or physically have been discriminated for years. In Canada, many physically and mentally disabled people have been discriminated due to their difference of being handicapped or mentally handicapped. For example, when people physically disabled apply for a job, they are considered less because they are in a wheelchair. For example, when you go to Macdonald, to School, or even in hospitals, have you ever seen any handicapped workers. I think that answer is no. All in all, Pierre Trudeau has done a great job enforcing the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom, but I think that each and every person should apply this law without the idea of discrimination.

The most important to me in the charter of rights and freedoms is equality rights. This right promises that everyone must be treated fairly no matter what colour their skin is, what religion they follow, age, gender, or what disabilities they might have. Without this right, people could be treated unfairly and excluded from getting jobs, going in certain places, or even voting. People would also cause violence because they don’t like something about someone. Without this law, it can lead to violence and discrimination which could lead to war and segregation. Even though equality rights are a law, people today are still being discriminated against. People who have disabilities of ten have a harder time getting a job, because they have a harder time doing the things that the job requires. One real life example of people disobeying this right is the Nazis. They imprisoned the Jewish people, people with disabilities, and people of different sexual orientation. If they had this law, that wouldn’t have happened, and WW2 also might not have happened. We all need to treat everyone equally no matter their colour, religion, sex, age, gender, or sexual orientation.

I personally believe, that the very most important section is having Equality Rights. Within Canada every single human being deserves to be treated with the same treatment (equally). And if people in our society goes by using Equality Rights day to day, than every person can be sure to be peaceful and everyone can get the best out of life. And if people don't use Equality Rights than lots of citizens will be getting discriminated upon all the time. it could be from their cultures, their race and even their religion/what they believe. this might lead the discriminated people to get angry and start chaos and anarchy throughout our country. Luckily the Canadian Charter of rights and freedoms states that ''we all should have equal rights and freedoms''. however still some people with disabilities or different races are discriminated from jobs. This way of our society has got to change! this isn't at all fair. Businesses should at least try to make it possible to hire workers who are in wheel chairs and etc. I mean Anything is possible, the word itself says I'm possible.

The category on Canada's charter of rights I believe to be the most important is democratic rights. By having the right to vote in elections you are given power and choice on who is going to be your leader. Everyone has a chance to influence how the country will be run and who is in charge. Voting is an important aspect of our democracy, but not only can we vote but we can also run as a candidate. We as Canadians have the opportunity to run for a political position if we want to. If none of the candidates suit what you are looking for in a leader, you have the right to run as well. The last and another really awesome aspect of our democratic rights is electing a leader every five years. By having an election every five years, we reduce the chance of the Prime Minister abusing his power. In Canada, we have so many rights that many other people do not. We are a democratic country and Canada's Charter of Rights helps our country stay that way

In my opinion, I believe that second section (The Fundamental Freedoms) is extremely important in the Charter of Rights. In Canada, we have rights that some people may not have. For example, protest against the Prime Minister (Or any leader in that case). But in some parts of the world, citizens are not allowed to do this. After hearing and watching the video of innocent bystanders that were just sitting on the ground only to be beaten by police that were abusing their power in Canada. This is where the Fundamental Freedoms falls into place; to believe in any religion, to bring groups together peacefully not having the government interfering and finally, to believe in what we think would improve the society.

I personally think that the most important section of the charter of rights and freedoms is the Equality rights. my reasoning for this is that everyone in Canada is from either a different country or has a different skin color so its only right to have this law because everyone deserves fair rights and people might try to discriminate other races and make their race seem superior so its good that we have the charter of rights and freedoms. their have been many cases where people have been discriminatory towards people of other races which is against the law that's why we have this law.
