The Indian Reservation Systems allowed Indian tribes to govern themselves and to maintain SOME of their culture and social traditions.

-Tribes had lost their land
-Natives had to wear non-native cloths and learned to read and write in English
-Natives had to learn Christianity and give up on spiritual beliefs 
-Over 10,000 Native Americans were relocated to Oklahoma.

Some bad affects there were on kids were : Tribes were broken up and some Indian traditions were taken away and kids were put into boarding schools. The Dawes Act also made Native Americans stay away from Settlers.

Indians who were hunters found it hard to become fisherman. Also Diseases from where settlers were common . Indians were forced to learn to sew and raise livestock. Finally it was almost impossible to keep their cultures.
