I think understanding rights and how to use them is just as important as understanding the origins of those rights and how they came about. 

I chose assignment 3.1 to represent my evidence and demonstrate my understanding of the foundations of America's government because in order to complete the assignment, I had to conduct research into some of the driving causes behind Enlightenment thinking and how Enlightenment thinkers influenced the Founding Fathers, resulting in things like natural rights being written into America's Constitution.

I feel that someone who just votes for whoever they want without regard to political part, position, or which level they are at harms democracy more than helps it, even if the person is participating in politics.

I also know that people, especially with all of the racial issues going on in the world right now, need to know their own rights and the limitations to those rights.

I chose assignment 5.2 to serve as my evidence because I feel like this essay captures the whole concept of the limitation of an individual's rights and it brings up a good point that's especially relevant in today's issues regarding racial tensions.
