  • Benjamin Franklin's "Poor Richard's Almanac" - This almanac was published on December 19, 1732, it was a calendar like writing that contained words about the industry and prudence. Benjamin Franklin's writing had an impact on printing that traveled through the thirteen colonies, it encouraged people to start printing more. It was a collection of multiple different things such as a calendar, weather, poems, astrological information and more.

  • Thomas Paine's "The Crisis" - "The Crisis" is about the support for an independent and self-government, during the American Revolution War. This reached the american colonies and the British, it made them consider war differently as well as see to peace.

    • - Similarities
    • Both Puritanism and Deism believed in God. 
    • They believed in one supreme deity is worthy of adoration.
    • Both emerged in the 16th-17th century in England
    - Differences
    • Deism believed that humans are born good while Puritanism believed that humans are born as sinners
    • Deism believed the universe is good while Puritanism believed the world is a crisis
    • Puritans believed God can take evilness away and save people through grace and Deism believed humans are good and the decision they make can change their own fate.

    •  The scientific revolution laid the foundation for the Age of the Enlightenment. It was centered as the primary source of authority and legitimacy. The scientific revolution was characterized by abstract reasoning, theory, and thoughts, understanding how nature work and it is still relevant today.
    The Enlightenment 
    •  The Enlightenment has been a turning point in the intellectual history of the Western world. Their principles were tolerance, optimism, humanity, rationality debate, and they are thought to be powerful ideas of Locke, Newton, Voltaire, and Diderot. The Enlightenment produced numerous books, inventions, scientific theories, laws, wars, and revolutions that helped advance ideals such as liberty, toleration, and constitutional government.
    The American Revolution
    •  The American Revolution secured the Independence of the United State from Great Britain and separated the British empire. The Independence force the colonies turned states to adjust to life outside of the British Empire and it made drastic changes in politics and economics.
