Post a casestudy of your own (or someone known to you) background of PA behaviour change.
What was the change?
Why did they change? Was it forced upon them or did they decide to do it for themselves? (If latter, how long were they thinking about the change before it actually occurred?)
Were there several 'stumbles' before the goal was reached? Was it a short or long term change?

A family member was overweight and had been talked to by doctors over the years for the need to lose weight - change diet and increase physical activity. They weren't able to commit for a while, I think purely because they believed they had not enough time or that it wouldn't work. But over this lockdown period, they have changed their diet and also made sure, that without fail, every day they will go for at least an hour walk. Once there were weight changes, and a blood test done showing a lot of their levels had returned to a healthy range, the person was able to see the benefits and has continued exercising every day.

Someone i know lost 20kg over the space of a year. The change was their current behaviour and habits. They wanted to lose weight because they had been over weight for some time. It was their decision and they found external help. They had been thinking about it for years before taking action. There were a lot of stumbles before they reached their goal, a lot of ups and downs and learning experiences.

They decided to quit cold turkey at new year and in spite of cravings didn't relapse into drinking anything with sugar in it. They are still upholding this a year and a half later.

This experience I went through myself, once I started to become more involved with the sport I was playing as a young teen, my bad health habit of not exercising (training) enough to play better in games but also impacted my everyday life. I also had some bad eating habits that one day in particular really affected how I was playing and also living. Which prompted the massive change to exercise (train) way more than what I did at the time and also changing my eating habits to positive ones not only helped me play better but also made me feel a lot healthier and happier in life.

My dad recently started eating healthier and made some generally positive lifestyle changes. He was previously quite sedentary due to health issues, but now he exercises an hour everyday with no excuses. He has been able to lose 40kg and has maintained his goal weight for 6 months now.

He had a multitude of health issues- high blood pressure, heart problems, fatigue, back pain and was diagnosed with multiple chemical sensitivity. The doctor encouraged him to make changes many times but each time he tried he had no motivation or energy. This time something clicked and he stuck with the healthy eating until now its just part of his routine.

He had stumbles in past attempts and gave up, but when he started seeing progress he knew he needed to stick with it. He is now much more energetic and his mental health has improved immensely. These results will encourage change for the long term.
