This book is Orbiting Jupiter by Gary Scmidt. Kids in the forster care system, kids with troubled home lives and kids teen parents could all benefit from reading this. This is the farm where Joseph is fostered with a loving family. It should be read because it can be used to explain found family to children.

I think that this book would be beneficial for any kid who has had a difficult time finding home and beneficial for any adult who wants to work with kids, especially those at risk, in any capacity. I think this book should be read because it is a well-told story about love, family, and the many ways those things can look.

I included in my picture Joseph skating away from the past and the trauma that he had to the home he eventually had.

I believe this book is important for kids who are struggling and acting out because of it. This book represents various struggles and can be a great resource for kids at this age who may be struggling with the same thing. Although it's very sad, it's such a great book that shows the ways trauma can impact someone, as well as provide a community for anyone going through something similar.

The book Orbiting Jupiter by Gary Schmidt is about a boy bouncing between homes and showcases the ways in which the foster care system distributes and organizes trauma, while also showcasing young parenting, found family, abuse, etc. I think this book would be great for maybe 7/8th and up, those are the pretty formative times when you feel the most different and need the most safety and support.
