Some of  the local species are – saxaul tree, pistachio, archa, wormwood and grasswort. Mediterranean plants can also be seen like – hawthorn, wall nut, fig and plane trees. Cash crops include rye, cotton and wheat which are grow widely in Tajikistan. More than 5,000 plant species are counted in the mountains and valleys of Tajikistan.

~Tajikistan has blocked free speech for years, blocking websites such as Facebook, Gmail, Radio Ozodi, the website of Radio Free Europe’s Tajik service, and opposition websites. In early November, authorities forced "Nigoh", one of Tajikistan’s last independent newspapers, to close after it had insulted president Rahmon by misspelling the word “president.”
