The coverage on the two stories describe the same event, but in completely different ways. 

The Fox News Article covers the facts and is a brief account of what exactly happened. The language is brief and precise. It uses the exact dialogue that happened in the video to make up the bulk of the article. The article goes on to say that he momentarily felt lightheaded and will consult a physician. It briefly mentions when he did the same thing last month. This article only uses sources that were there during the time of the freeze, McConnell's spokespersons, and a McConnell aide. 

The New York Times article covers the facts but also uses descriptive words to describe McConnell. For example, they state that he "appeared thinner and paler than he has in recent months." It also goes into detail about the concussion he experienced in March. It also gives information about two neurologists weighing in on what could be happening. It closes with the fact that it is his 7th term and has the title for the longest-serving Senate leader.

While both stories show a recent picture of McConnell, the Fox News story uses a picture from the actual event. In my opinion, the picture that Fox News used makes McConnell look worse. Both photos do not make him look well. 

I believe the target audience for the Fox News article is for republicans or those who support McConnell. It sticks to the facts of what occurred without pointing out how his health is seriously affecting his work. In opposition, I believe the New York Times article is targeted towards those in opposition of McConnell or anyone who thinks term limits should be placed on members of the Congress. As neurologists weigh in and the length of his career are mentioned.
