Coraline is a young girl who just moved into her new apartment. Her parents, neglectful and always working encourage Coraline to explore the new house and count everything in it. She soon stumbles upon a secret door, which hides an alternate world similar to her own, but in many ways better. What she discovers unfolds in a series of chilling events.

I would recommend this novel to audiences of all ages who enjoy a fantasy novel that explores ideas that stretch the imagination. This book also connects with real life problems like parental issues. Coraline shows the struggles of having to occupy and fend for herself constantly, which in her case, causes her to fall a little too far into mischief.
