People can benefit from CSR whether they are employees, shareholders or external stakeholders since CSR impacts everyone associated with the company in any way shape or form. As Mc Williams and Siegel's (2001) define CSR, “actions which appear to further some social good” outside of a company's interest and operations means that CSR can end up being extra costs with no pay off for the business. The CSR can also impact the internal employees of the company, if the company increases the wages of the employees so that they can afford a decent living or provide benefits in the form of opportunities or facilities similar as to how Google employees' work.

It is good for the business to reflect the principles of ethicality and morality as it helps attain trust of the people and stakeholders who CSR affects. A business can win through CSR as it can further the businesses reputation and increase the goodwill at the same time as the company tries to prevent its reputation from being tarnished by scandals provoked by unethical or even inhumane decisions. The failure to maintain a positive reputation can result in serious deficiencies in sales as well as trust the customers would hold to the business and brand as was the case with (Roberts, S., 2003) Nike and Adidas. These companies provided only “poor” wages which weren't enough for the workers to afford a decent standard of living forcing them to live in poverty of the slums. However, considering social media such as Facebook and the numerous scandals it had over the years, the people still returned to use the media so the costs of CSR would be non-beneficial since the demand for the technology is superior to the negative reputation the company may have.
