Asked on the reading of the text “My Story” I think that the message that the author tried to convey was that even if you have needs doesn’t mean that you can bully them for that. In the text it says “I got in fights because kids teased me they called me names like retard or tape recorder” This means that kids teased her just because she was autistic and that’s not right.

Based on my reading of the text "My story"from Animals In Translations by Temple Grandin and Catherine Johnson . The message is Animals and people belong with each other in harmony.In the text it claims "All these animals have been abused …I don't know why."This explains that she doesn’t think that humans should harm animals but instead be in harmony.Also in the text it states "I wish more kids ride horses today.People and animals are supposed to be together,and we used to be partners.Now people are cut off from animals unless they have a dog or a cat.This emphasizes the point that she wants people to be with animals.In conclusion This is why "people and animals should be together in harmony " is one of the messages.

Based on my reading of the text, “ My Story” From Animals In Translation I think the author’s message to the reader is, many people are different but are capable of learning new things. In the text it states, “ Animals kept me going. I spent every waking minute that I didn’t have to be studying or going to school with these horses.” This shows that she learned a lot from the horses, and started liking animals. This is what I think the author is trying to convey to the reader.

In “My Story” from Animals in Translation by Temple Grandin I think the author is trying to convey the reader is just because someone is special needs doesn’t mean that you should judge them or be mean to them. In the text it says “I got in fights because kids teased me. They’d call me names like, “retard”, or “Taperecorder”. This confirms that you shouldn’t judge any one even if they are special needs because people have different disabilities and they can’t do some things that you can do.

The author is trying to say that animals can make you calm. Based on my reading, in paragraph 14, Temple says, “Animals kept me going.” This shows that animals can keep you calmer or “keep you going”, as said Temple Grandin.

Temple Grandin is trying to tell us that she wasn’t born as a person that knows everything about animals; she became one through passion and love for them. In paragraph 12, she says that she didn’t know much about animals, but she loved them. Also, in paragraph 13, she gets a saddle that she loved as much as she loved animals. This shows that she loved everything about animals and things related to them, and that led her to becoming who she is today.

What I think the central idea of this text is you can only discover what you can do when you want to. For example, the text states “ It took me a long time to figure out that I see things about animals other people don’t”. Also the text states “ I started to fall in love with animals in high school when my mom sent me to a special boarding school for gifted children with emotional problems”. Finally the text states “ I was so wrapped up in them that I spent every spare moment working the barns”.

Based on my reading from “ My story “ I think the author is trying to say treat people the way you want to be treated. For example in the text it says “ Teasing hurts. The kids would tease me, so I’d get mad and smack ‘em.” This shows that she knows how it’s like being teased and so people should stop because if they were to be teased they wouldn’t like it.
