I learned that the boats are coming in really slowly, there's a limit on some food and truck drivers are slowly losing how much they are earning. The two things that I already knew is that everything got more expensive and there's a labor shortage. One interesting fact that I learned is that 2 whales washed up in 48 hours!

3 Things I Learned:

1. People are buying stuff over services more and more.
2. There is a global truck shortage.
3. The supply ships on that port had over 1/2 of America's stuff.

2 Things I Already Knew:

1. There is a U.S. labor shortage
2. A higher demand than supply causes the cost of items to go up to lower the demand to stay even.

1. Supply chains have gotten way worse in the last 2 months for many countries.

I learned that container ships are getting stalled, it may last until next year, and that there is a shortage of truck drivers. I already knew that there was a supply shortage, and that it was because of shortage of workers. I was very surprised that the shortages might last until next year.

I didn't know there was a shortage of truck drivers. I didn't know there was 55 boats there (and more!). I also didn't know that that there was a shortage of warehouse employees (Or something). I already knew that there was a holdup at the ports. I also knew it was caused by Covid-19. My Aha was that it caused a chain reaction of less stuff for everyone.

1: I did not know about the slowdown at the shipping ports. It shocked me to see like 100 ships in the ocean waiting to unload. 2:The unearthed chinese fort was interesting too. I didn't know about that either. 3:I'm surprised that they were able to save the whale that washed up on the shore. I already knew that his name was Karl. I already knew what a Cargo ship was.

One really interesting thing that I learned is that we are SUPER backed up What's going on is we are short on labor. Also the supply ships are having to wait average 10 DAYS before being unloaded and this is affecting businesses harshly.

I learned that a 32 ft whale washed up on a beach in Argentina! It is really nice of people to get it back into the ocean, instead of just saying, that whale is too big it can die and go in our museums. Apparently that was their 2nd humpback whale of the past 48 hours, and they saved both of them. Also, on the topic of whales, there was 3 beluga whale sightings in tacoma, the first one of them being the first since 1940! Wow. I also learned cargo ships get stuck for 10 days, and that truck drivers have to wait for up to 10 hours. Did they really just find a big fort and great wall in china?

This is for my October 8th 3-2-1 on CNN 10!
3 new things:
1) I didn't know the name of the host : Carl Azuz.
2) Cargo boats now have to wait 10 days to be able to get a spot in a port.
3) Off the Port of Los Angeles, there are more cargo boats waiting than parking spots (55+ boats)

2 things I knew:
1) The world's postponed
2) Amazon orders are slowing down and racking up

1 AHA! moment:
People have limited work hours now, which causes things to rack up; it's all connected.

I learned that the ships with the countaners had to just just there waiting to be shipped. I also learned the a whale got stuck on a beach. The last thing i learned was that the countaners got shipped one truck at a time.I already knew that the supply chain was backed up. I also knew that there is a worker shortage. I think it is insterenting that that they used a excavator to lift the whale.

3) People are debating to use 24/7 work to lessen the traffic in the Pacific ocean.

The prices are about 70% higher for some of the products on the ships
It might last another whole year

I have learned that every day the pandemic the backup will worse and worse and the lack of people is making it worse. Another thing I learned is that people are so warm-hearted and will help with anything in need. A great example is the story of a whale being stranded on a beach, not only did they go and help the whale, they didn't wait for help and didn't sit around wondering what they should do. They went straight over and helped the whale. Another thing I learned is that there are fewer and fewer truck drivers and workers everywhere. People struggle to keep their stores open and people struggle to find jobs too.

One "Aha!" moment I had was...
1. I didn't really have an "aha!" moment, most of this stuff I already knew. And if I didn't know it, it wasn't TOO surprising.

The 3 things I learned:

The 3 things I learned

1. I learned that people are buying more things and that the people who are transporting the shipping containers are having trouble keeping up.

2. There is a shortage with truck drivers which makes it even more harder for the people transporting shipping containers to give people their needs

3. Amazon is changing everything, With more easy access to their needs, the more people will buy. Amazon relies on shipping containers to come to their warehouses. but because of this, they are easily getting out of stock. which means that they need more and more shipping containers to come to the warehouses.

The two things that already know.

1. The pandemic made it so that there are less people to work and the unemployment rate as gone up, which means that there are less people to unload the shipping containers.

2. Prices are skyrocketing due to higher demand, and that it is increasing fast because of the pandemic.

The most interesting fact that I learned.

1. The most interesting fact That I learned was that to save the whale, they used team effort, and that they did everything they could to save it, (An excavator was used to lift it up!) I really appreciated the fact that they did as much as they can to save the whale.

1. Big boats can stay parked out at sea without a dock.
2. Semi truck drives have to wait to get to port to load up
3. There were 2 whales rescued within 48 hours of each other after being stranded on a beach.

1. People arent working so there is a shortage of workers to move goods
2. We rely on China for a lot of our goods.
My AHA Moment
Cargo ships are stuck out at sea sometimes more than 10 days waiting to get to the dock to be unloaded.
