Q1) How do you think the people in the picture are feeling? Why do you think they feel this way?
Answer: I think the people in the picture are feeling very thankful and delighted. They are smiling so happily. I think this is because they are happy that there is a pet to accompany them when they feel lonely. They look like adults who are in their retirement years and apparently elderly who are retired normally have nothing to do at home so they will feel very bored and sick because their children are working while their grandchildren are in school. Having a pet to accompany them will make their time at home more occupied and also a chance to go out when bringing their pet out for a walk.
Q2) How difficult or easy is it to look after a pet?
Answer: To me, I think it is very difficult to take care of a pet. Taking care of a pet is a huge responsibility. Its like taking care of another person. That's how big the responsibility to me is. Taking care of a pet also means giving them sufficient care and love. Pets need food, toys and a small shelter to stay in and all these requires money.  I think pets get sick more easily than humans and the costs of their treatment and consultation costs way more than humans'. with me being a 16-year-old teenager, I think I will be burdened by all these bills and also, I don't think I have time to take of my pet while preparing for my upcoming national exams.

Answer: I agree. This is because people kill animals for their skin, for food and also for fun. People kill animals for their skin to make things for themselves. For example, sheep's fur for coats, crocodile and snake skin for handbags and wallets, tiger's fur for floor mat. People also kill animals for food such as shark fins. To entertain themselves, people play games with animals like shooting birds and winning prizes. From this i can infer that they are very elated to have this cat as part of their family. Even though the cat is only a pet in the family, but it is still able to bring joy to the family. Many families have other pets such as dogs, hamsters or rabbits that bring just as much joy to the family. Just like in this picture the elderly couple enjoys the cats presence in the family. It is evident that pets are an essential part of a happy family.

q2) I feel that the difficulty in taking care of a pet varies from pet to pet. Some pets like dogs and cats require additional care like having to bring them out for walks, to groom them constantly and to have to buy food and toys for them. Pets that are easier to take care of would be fishes or hamsters, which are smaller in size and require less maintenance than bigger pets which meas not having to constantly buy toys for them or massive amounts of food just to keep them early. Not to mention, they do not require training or constant grooming. In fact, some fishes thrive in dirty water hence there is no need to clean their fish tanks often. Despite a higher level of difficulty in taking care of dogs or cats, they are still favoured over boring hamsters and fishes as they are known for their playful and fun-loving nature. However, not everyone has the time and money to take care of such an expensive pet, hence pets that require less caretaking and money are sometimes chosen aswell.
3) i strongly agree that man is the main reason animals are endangered today. Animals have been around for as long as us and many animals were known to cause each others extinction due to either due to the lack of prey or overpopulation of predators. However,that was in the past, nowadays humans are taking nature into their own hands introducing alien species into new environments not fit for them and trying to control pests population. By trying to play 'god' man has caused much harm to animal life. Many bird species have gone endangered due to the introduction of exotic birds into other countries either through illegal trade or illegal releasing of animals into the wild. This alone is a massive cause for animals going endangered and i have yet to mention the destruction of animal habitats. Deforestation has destroyed endless amounts of forests and in the process destroyed the homes of thousands of animal lives. Causing them to either flee or get exposed to the elements and die to predators they are normally safe from in the forest, the latter being more common.

The elderly couple shown in the picture are petting their pet cat. The lady has a smile on her face, which expresses her joy towards being with her cat. The man looks to be stroking the cat, and has a focused look on his face. I can infer that he cares a lot for the cat's comfort. I think that the two people in the picture are animal lovers who genuinely enjoys spending time with their pet cat.

2. I have never owned a pet before, but I am very sure that looking after one takes a lot of responsibility. Taking care of a pet requires a lot of effort and dedication. A pet needs to be constantly fed, bathed, and played with. Ensuring that a pet stays healthy needs one to manage their time wisely, as one needs to dedicate time to look after their pets even after a long day of work or school. A pet like a cat or dog also needs to have sufficient exercise. Pet owners have to take their pets out for walks and buy them toys, which is both time-consuming and a financial burden. Therefore I think looking after a pet is not an easy job at all.

3. To some extent, I agree that humankind is to blame on the near extinction of animals. People are responsible for the deforestation of jungle areas and destroying the habitats of some species which are endangered today. -In my opinion, the people in the picture are feeling happy. I think they are feeling this way because they might have gotten a new cat, shown in the picture, which may be a new addition to their family. Personally, I think it is important for pets and their owners to have a good relationship with each other and it is essential for pet owners to take care of their pets' welfare. Since they have decided to have the pets', it's their responsibility to take care of them.

-Based on my personal experience, it is quite difficult to look after a pet. It takes a very big amount of effort to find out more about the pets behaviour, lifestyle, habits, type of food eaten, allergies and so on. Normally, majority of people would get tired of looking after their pets after a week or two because some pets are really difficult to take care of, especially pets that require a lot of attention. Pet owners have to consistently monitor and look after their pets from the day they were adopted. The pets' health is the most important aspect that has to be taken care of as some pets are prone to diseases. Most of the time, pets are adopted so that they can have a better condition and standard of living. But to meet the needs of the pets are certainly not easy and requires a lot of effort and passion for pets. Hence, in my opinion, it is difficult to look after a pet.

-Yes, I agree with this statement. It is because of the environmental and technological developments that needs to be done to ensure the country's economy continues to flourish. The trees in the forests are being cut down to have more land space to build HDB flats, houses, buildings, roads and attractions but as a result, animals living in the forests or depend on the forests for survival, now have no where to live and no resources for survival. Singapore is a very small country and because of the increasing population, the priority is given to humans and not animals. I think that the people in this picture are feeling elated, as they are carrying a cat and hugging it, showing their happiness. As they look like elderly, they are presumably happy to have someone or something to show their love and affection for. Being elderly, they are mostly likely retired. Hence, taking care of a pet such as a cat is the perfect way to past time, as not only is it fun, it is meaningful as well.

I feel that taking care of pets might be both difficult and easy, depending on a few things. Firstly, it would depend on the leisure time of a person. For example, when you are a young child, or retired, you would have much free time. hence, you are able to take care of your pets better and easily. However, if you are a middle aged adult or student, you would tend to have lesser time for fun and therefore will have a hard time juggling studying or work with taking care of your pet, making it difficult. Hence the difficulty of taking care of a pet definitely has to do with your leisure time. Secondly, there are both easy and difficult times when taking care of a pet. Easy times would be to simply feed your pet on time, and ensuring it is healthy. Difficult times, for some people, would be when the pet does their business in public, the owner has to clean it up, which is rather disgusting to some people. Hence, there are definitely good and bad times when taking care of a pet.

I agree with this statement, as humans are definitely the leading cause of endangerment of animals. The most common way people cause the endangerment of species is illegal hunting. If not for such poachers, certain species like the Giant Panda would not be endangered. Another way that humans cause the endangerment of species is the destruction of environments. Factories dump waste into rivers, killing many marine animals. Many also cut down trees to make wood related products and for space to build new infrastructures. Hence, the environment has been polluted because of mankind.

ANS:  I think they are feeling very happy and comfortable, cuddling with their pet cat. The woman has a very wide smile showing how elated she is to be with her cat and the man seems to be gently petting his cat, showing his care and concern for it. I think the reason the old couple is feeling so jovial is their pet cat. Amazingly, pets seem to have ways of knowing exactly when and how to comfort us, as though they have a special sixth sense. I think that perhaps the cat has been with the old couple for a long enough time that they have developed a special bond between owner and pet, something exclusive only to them and the couple are feeling very contented.

Q2) How difficult or easy is it to look after a pet?

ANS: I feel that it depends on the owner. However, there are definitely some difficulties that owners may face when raising a pet. First and foremost, looking after a pet requires time and effort. Owners have to be responsible for the well-being of their pets. From feeding to cleaning, playing and ensuring that the pets are healthy, owners have a steady stream of responsibilities to take up in order to look after their pets. Some may even think of it as a very time-consuming task. Nevertheless, owners have to juggle their work, personal lives as well as duties to care for their pets. Hence, it would be quite difficult to take care of a pet if one has many things on his or her plate because looking after a pet is time-consuming. 
Moreover, to look after a pet, one must have the financial capabilities. The food, cleaning products, living area as well as the healthcare of pets tally up to quite a sum of money. In order to make sure that their pets are healthy and are not sick or have any disease, owners have to bring their pets to the vet every once in a while for checkup. To ensure the cleanliness of pets, owners may have to buy things like shampoo for pets like cats or dogs, or even a water purifier for their pet fish. There are of course owners who wish for only the very best for their pets and hence go out of their way to buy special food products that are organic or contain more nutrients for their pets or buy their pets special bedding, which would definitely be more expensive than normal. With all these considerations, pet owners have to be financially capable of taking care of pets if they want to get a pet. Thus, it is difficult to look after a pet if one is not financially stable enough.

I think that the lady photo is happy as seen from the wide smile on the her face as she snuggles up to the cat. The old man, however looks concerned. She probably feels that way because she could have previously felt bored and lonely but with the presence of the cat, she has started to feel more lively and enjoy the accompaniment of the cat. The old man is feeling apprehensive about the whole matter as he is worried that he may not be able to take care of the cat and might cause more trouble for him.

Personally, I would say pets are quite easy to be taken care of. All one has to do is ensure that they have enough food and water and a place to rest, the basic needs of a living thing. The owner could also opt to take their pet out for walks or provide them with toys to play with. A problem that pet owners may have to face is if they are not at home and their pets move about wherever they want in the house, potentially causing some damage to the furniture in the house, making taking care of the pet a challenge to some.

I agree with the statement because humans hunt animals whether for food or, if some part of an animal is worth a lot of money, to make money. This may not seem like much of a problem as other animals also hunt each other to stay alive. However, when humans hunt, some do not take into consideration the population of the animals and hunt freely without restraints, possibly endangering that particular species. These animals are not able to reproduce fast enough and would eventually face extinction at the hands of us humans.

In the picture, there is an elderly couple with a cat. The lady on the left looks jovial. I think this is because she is an avid cat lover. Spending time with animals is most likely her favorite activity. This might be why she looks blissful and comfortable with the cat she is holding. On the other hand, the man on the right looks grumpy. Perhaps, the man was forced to join his wife to volunteer at an animal shelter. However,  he is willing to stroke the kitten. Hence, I think that he is just not particularly fond of animals, but does not mind being around animals.

2. I think it is difficult to look after pets. When children are young, they tend to ask their parents to get them a pet. However, they do not realize the responsibilities that come with taking care of another living being. As an owner, one must be prepared to make sacrifices when caring for a pet. Owners must be willing to dedicate time to wash their pets and help them exercise and stay fit, through activities like walking the dog. Also, they must be prepared to fork out hard-earned money into purchasing equipment, food, food bowls, litter boxes, cages, leashes, et cetera. Owners also have to make sure to bring their pets to the veterinarian when they fall sick. In addition, pets have to be routinely sent for grooming. Some owners also like to send their pets to pet spas to pamper them. All this adds up to a significant amount of money that needs to be set aside for taking care of pets. The owner has to ensure that there is sufficient resources to take care of the health of their pet. In addition, owners need to spend time with their pet to forge strong emotional bonds with them, and not play with them once in a while. The emotional well-being of the pet is one aspect the owner needs to ensure is covered.

ans : i feel that the old couple in the picture are joyfully smiling  while they're spending time with their pet cat. It can be seen in the picture that they are very loving towards the cat,  judging by how they are cuddling with it lovingly. There may be a possibility that the cat may be a new addition to the family as it looks like a kitten. I guess that the old couple may have adopted the cat from an animal shelter. Since they are an old couple, I'm sure that their children are living their own lives independently, not visiting them often. In order to make up for their loneliness, they may have decided to adopt one of the cats there. I'm sure that they must be contended with their decision as they get to have a companion to pass time now and also they have also managed to give the cat a more comfortable lifestyle, one that it did not have before.

ans : In my opinion, it is actually quite difficult to raise a pet.it may feel like a breeze and a enjoyable experience while others may feel like its a chore. I'm sure that the owners know the huge responsibility they have on their shoulders by making the decision to buy a pet as pets are living things to instead of being a temporary interest for them. Therefore, the owners play a huge part in their pet's lifestyle, from the basic needs to the pet's emotional well being. First of all, the owners are required to ensure that their pets are healthy and fit. They can do sure by regularly checking that their pet has a sufficient intake of nutrients to ensure that they remain healthy. They should also leave out some time in their daily schedules to bring their dogs out for walks, ensuring that their pets stay active and fit even till an old age.

Q2) In my opinion, looking after a pet is difficult as it demands for the pet owners to be very devoted and caring to their pets. Owning a pet means taking it regularly to the vet to have routine check ups and various kinds of vaccination. Owners also have to purchase various essentials for their pets such as pet food, pet toys and many more. Hence pets do not come cheap with all these necessities owners have to purchase. Pets like dogs also need to be taken for walks regularly , and owners have to sacrifice some of their free time to take their dog for a walk or to play with their pets. If the pet falls sick or is injured, they have to bring it to the vet for treatment, which is usually very expensive. However, pets like goldfish, terrapins or hamsters are easier to take care of because they are relatively smaller in size compared to pets like cats and dogs.But generally,taking care of a pet requires a huge responsibility and selflessness from the owner. Hence, I would say taking care of a pet is not an east feat.
Q3) I agree with this statement to some extent. Man is the main reason animals are endangered today because of activities like poaching and hunting which many people engage in. For example, rhinos and elephants are captured and their tusks sawed off by poachers.These tusks are then sold off at high prices to others. A common delicacy usually seen at Chinese New Year dinners is sharks fin soup. Sharks are captured and hauled on the ship and their fins chopped off. They are then thrown back into the sea and left to die as without their fins, they are unable to swim.It is such cruel acts that leads to animals getting more and more endangered and closer to extinction. In addition , humans are causing severe global warming . I think the people are feeling very contented and happy as seen in the picture. I think they feel his way as they are cat lovers and hence feel a sense of contentment spending time and taking a picture with their cat.  I am sure they are enjoying the accompaniment of the cat to past time. They may have gotten the cat to not let themselves get bored or become senile as they only have each other for accompaniment.

In my opinion, it can be very difficult to look after a pet as it can be very troublesome to take care of their daily necessities. For example, the owner would need to pick up the faeces after the dog. Also a high maintenance fee is needed as a trip to the vet is very costly. Also, some people may be busy and still need to take care of the pets, adding to the load of work or chores to be done. However i believe that as long as one has the patience and puts their heart into looking after the pet, it can be done.

I agree that man is the main reason animals are endangered today. As industrialisation occurs, man needs to provide land for factories and other buildings for different purposes to be built. Hence the forests, home to thousands of species of animals, are destroyed, causing the animals to lose their homes and natural habitat, which is essential for animals. Hence man will cause animals to be endangered due to deforestation for human benefits. Also some people may harm animals for body parts that are expensive such as elephant tusks, causing animals to be endangered too because of monetary benefits.

Q2) In my opinion, it is not easy to look after a pet. Firstly, to own a pet is to be able to afford its necessities such as its food, accommodation, toys and etc. If one struggles with paying for the cost of having said pet, then one should not own a pet, to save trouble for both the pet and the owner. Secondly, having a pet requires one to spend time with it. Pets are creatures who behave very similarly to us humans. Just like how we need interaction with the people around us, they too need attention from their owners. These pets can become very lonely and upset if their owners are not able to commit to spending time with them, and may feel the need to react to the loneliness by doing something to retaliate just to get the attention of the owners. Often times, many assume that by providing the essentials of the pet, they have done their part as an owner. Yet, this mentality is wrong because these pets need to interact with people, or even other animals to ensure that they do not feel secluded or left out. To sum it up, owners must not only make sure that their pets are taken well of by having necessities, they must also make it a point to know when and how to connect with their pets. I feel strongly that if a person is not able to commit their time and money for their pets, then they should not even get one in the first place. 

Q3) Yes, I agree that man is the main reason animals are endangered today. One such example to support my stand is the habit of man to carry out deforestation to build new buildings, to make way for new housing estates or to simply gather more land. When deforestation occurs, many animals lose their homes, where they have been spending their whole lives in. They do not know another home than the forest and so, they are stripped of something familiar to them and they become lost. Some even die due to the destruction caused by disasters such as the deforestation. This may not only lead to a significant decrease in the number of a particular type of animal, causing them to be endangered, it may even wipe out an entire species. From this picture, I think that the lady is feeling delighted, as she has a big smile on her mouth. While the man looks calm and little concern, as his facial expression did not show any thing. Since the lady is hugging the cat, and the man look at the cat with love and care, I think both of them are comfortable with the pet. I think they probably have no children to take care of them or to accompany them, and they have look after this cat for years. Thus, they see the cat as part of their family instead of a pet to feed. 

Q2) How difficult or easy is it to look after a pet?

I think it is difficult to look after a pet. Firstly, time has to spend to understand them. Animals have a different way of functioning, people have to learn their emotions and actions in order to know their needs. Also, people have to be mindful on their diets and bring them out for walk on a regular basis, to ensure they are healthy. Secondly, pet need attentions. This will be difficult for those people who travel a lot, they could not fulfill the needs of the pet. Furthermore, great efforts have to put in when they get sick. People have to infer from their actions as pet could not talk, and give them the treatments. Time and effort are important inorder to notice the changes in behaviour.
Hence, it is difficult to look after a pet. On the other hand, it will be easier if one own a pet for some years. One will know what to prepare for the diet, when it need a walk, what to do when it is sick. Everything has became a daily routine for them, as they are used to each other. Therefore, it is a habit not a trouble.

I agreed that man is the reason animals are endangered today. Animals are endangered is firstly due to global warming. Trees are cut down to provide lands for the increasing factories and buildings. Resulting animals losing their natural habitats. For example, ice bergs in the Arctic melts. The polar bears do not have enough land to live in and it reduces the supply of food therefore they survival is at risk. Secondly, it is due to water pollution. We used to have various species of fish. However, there are many waste produced by human activities such as agriculture and industrial waste are disposed into water bodies. The variety of fish are getting lesser, as there are not enough minerals to support their life and reproduce. While another reason is overfishing, man are fishing at a regular cycle which is shorter than the fish natural  reproduce cycle. Causing the variety getting lesser. having a pet can be hard sometimes, depending on what pet one has, the difficulty may vary. keeping a dog will be harder than keeping a cat as cats are more independent compared to dogs and cats know how to take care of themselves. whereas for dogs, one will have to walk the dog almost daily as they are very active animals and will get very bored very easily. dogs are also more in need of attention compared to cats. in general, taking care of pets are quite difficult. one will have to pay for the food, vaccinations, medical fees for the pet. for example, my cousins dog once fell sick and they had to seek medical help. the medical fees cost about $2000 which is much more than when one visits a doctor. furthermore, one will have to deal with the loss of the pet after it pass away as pets usually have a shorter lifespan than humans. one will have to know how to manage their emotions as losing a pet could be similar to losing a best friend or a family. hence i feel that taking care of a pet is difficult

2) Looking after a pet can be both easy and difficult. However, I feel that the numerous difficulties can be overcome if the owner really loves their pet a lot. One difficulty is the financial difficulty. Buying a pet already costs a lot, and buying food and toys for the pet is costly. Furthermore, some pets need grooming and there is the vaccination costs as well. For example, my cousin owns a pet dog. Every few months or so, he would bring his dog to the pet store and spent about $50 each time. Getting the pet accessories such as dog bowls and dog leashes can be costly too. Pet food also needs to be bought every 1 month or so. Another difficulty of looking after a pet is that one would have to dedicate a lot of time and effort on it. Pet owners have to spend time with their pets, for example a pet dog, owners have to play with it, spend time bringing it out to avoid the dog feeling sad or even depressed. However, with lots of time and dedication to the pet, it can be easy looking after the pet. Especially if the owner loves the pet a lot, he will feel happy looking after the pet, even if it is hard. I think that those leading a busy lifestyle and doesnt have much time left should not be getting a pet as it may be stressful for them. Furthermore, when pets fall sick or are injured, owners tend to leave them abandoned at void decks, and this is a really irresponsible action. Hence, i think that looking after a pet requires a lot of affection and effort, and people who wants to own a pet should think twice before getting a pet.
3) I agree to a large extent that man is the main reason animals are endangered today. I think that pollution, deforestation and hunting are the three main actions man do that causes animals to be endangered. Pollution comes in many forms. I think that water pollution is one of the main contributors that causes animals to be at the brink of extinction. For example, oil spills and litters found in the sea is a very common sight. With these litter and oil spills, they cause marine animals to either be poisoned by the chemicals or die from accidentally eating and chocking on the litter in the sea. Many sea animals, especially sea turtles,  tend to mistake plastic bags as jellyfishes for food, and would eat the plastic bag, causing them to chock and in worst case scenario, die.  In addition, deforestation, the destroyal of forests that are homes to many land animals, for paper, is increasing rapidly. Every year, earth loses thousands of acres of green land to produce paper related product. This causes the loss of habitat and source of food for many animals such as orangutans. Many animals thus lose their home and in the long term, they become endangered due to lack of food and shelter. Lastly, hunting also causes animals to be endangered today. Animals such as elephants  are hunted for their tasks.  Ivory poaching for tusks is the main reason that elephants have been so heavily hunted. Elephant ivory has been used in huge amounts to make billiards balls, piano keys, identification chops and many other items for human enjoyment. When the elephants's tusks are chopped off, it is very hard for them to survive and in the end, they die. Ans: I absolutely adore animals, but i must say that while owning one may seem fun, it certainly isn't easy. I have owned fish before, and have also trained, fed and brought my grandmother's dog out for walks. Taking care of pets isn't simply days full of rainbows and butterflies. Owning a pet is a big responsibility, because their lives are in your hands. Neglect it too much, it can become depressed and lonely. Spoil it too much, and it will become aggressive and needy. Even small animals like hamsters and fish require lots of care. For instance, you can't overfeed your fish because they tend to just eat whatever food is in front of them, and eventually die from overeating. When hamsters give birth, the parents could mistake their baby for not being their own, and eat them. You need to take care of their physical health by constantly playing with them and bringing them out for walks. You even need to take note of what they can and cannot eat. When I was a child, I always went over to my Grandmother's and unknowingly fed her dog salty chicken wings. After a few weeks, its fur started to recede, and it had a few small bald spots. Animals can also become depressed if neglected, as I mentioned, so you need to shower them with affection in order to keep their mental health in check. Taking care of animals can also be very expensive as you need to buy beds, collars, toys, food, food bowls, and even tanks and cages. It is especially stressful for young people living on their own as simply buying necessities for your pets can be very costly, and some people don't have very high wages and can barely afford to pay for bills and their own necessities.
However, owning a pet can also bring about good things, like strengthening your sense of responsibility. As a person who is part of the new generation, I would say that many people my age tend to be complacent or spoiled. Their parents do almost everything for them, and I feel that owning a pet can help people become more responsible because without sufficient care, animals can easily fall sick. 2) Although I personally do not own a pet, it seems to me that pet owners have to put in a lot of work to be able to care for their pet. The costs of taking care of them, such as providing food or paying for an appointment with the veterinarian, are exorbitant. Not to mention the fact that it requires physical labour to make sure they stay healthy and active, which depends on the kind of pet itself. 2) In my opinion, I feel that the difficulty of taking care of a pet depends on each individual pet owner. For example, a child may not have as much experience in caring for another living being, and hence may not understand their needs. On the other hand, an experienced pet owner might have no problem taking care of multiple pets at once as they already know the needs of each pet and have planned a schedule for the purpose of caring for the pets. Hence, I feel that the difficulty level really just depends on the experience if the pet owner.

3) I agree that man in the main reason that animals are extinct today. As the human population continues to grow, so do our demands. In order to sustain our population, we have cut down trees for space as well as resources. These forests might have been the homes of a wide variety of different animals and deforestation eventually affect the eco-system drastically. With less space to live in and less prey or plants to eat, many animals end up endangered or even extinct. Hence, I do believe that humans are the main reason the animals are extinct. However, I also share an opposite view of this situation. Humans are now realising the consequences of deforestation and other activities that harm the well being of animals, and are hence relocating the endangered animals to enclosures that have the resources that can sustain them. They also breed the endangered animals in order to ensure the continuity of the species. I think that the people are feeling very happy as seen from the smiles on their faces. The picture shows a couple holding onto a kitten. They seemed to be holding onto the kitten very closely to their faces and they look very appreciative and delighted to have the kitten. It is probably because this is their first pet and they are excited about it about the upcoming new experience or to have some new company with them.

It is not easy to look after a pet at all. Taking care of a pet requires great commitment, time, effort and responsibility to do so. Pets and humans are unable to communicate very well so it is very difficult for humans to accommodate to the pets requests. Pets also need great time and commitment like feeding them or bathing them or even walking them downstairs, however this is very difficult to do so as many of us are busy with our work, school and social life. Pet owners have to squeeze out more time to take care of a pet. However, pet owners are unable to abandon these routine of taking care because pets are also living things with lives and it is one’s responsibility to take care of it. I agree to a large extent. Man take up a major role in the world’s environment. Man are in large control of the production of harmful gases that contribute to global warming like the use of cars and deforestation for land uses. Global warming thus have many effects like destruction of ice platforms that destroys habitat of polar bears. Other examples include the use of animal parts to construct things like skin and tusks, these may include elephants or tiger skins to make beautiful products. They also include using of animal’s parts to make food for man, such as shark’s fins, a known Chinese delicacy. These sharks are hunt just for their fins and thrown back to the sea left to die. This might be due to them living alone, they look like people who had already retired and were just spending their time at home most of the time. It is normal for retired elderly to feel lonely especially when they live alone with little to no contact from their families. Having a pet example that cat to accompany them will make them feel much better seeing that they will have something to do with their lives. They will be occupied with taking good care of that cat to even feel lonely. Having a pet at home creates a much more homely feel to one's life and that is why I think that they are feeling happy as they cuddled the cat.

It is very difficult to look after a pet as it takes up a lot of responsibility in one's life. Especially in this age, time is constantly not enough due to the fast-paced life that majority have.Unlike toys, pets are living creatures and to look after a pet requires high maintenance, to have to time to train the pets, feed them, bathe them and even play with them. Without proper care will impact the pet's life negatively whether it is starving or even becoming home to parasites. In turn, this is affect their owner's life negatively as well. Pets also requires  I had a pet crayfish once when I was younger, it was rather difficult to take care of it as they require ample space, twice a weekly change of water and had to be kept in a tank without any other fishes as it will eat them. When a crayfish sheds, they need extra care as they are much more vulnerable as compared to having a fully strengthen shell. Taking care of pets also requires a stable finance due to having to bring them for regular check-ups at the vet. And thus, taking care of pets is a rather difficult task.

In the picture we can also see that the woman is hugging her cat tightly which shows how much she treasures and enjoys the company of her new pet.

To me looking after a pet is a very difficult task and requires a lot of time and patience. Pets are living beings too like humans hence we have to feed, bathe and play with them. Aside from that, we also have to get them things like beds to sleep on and regularly prepare pet food. Many people nowadays are busy with their work and social life hence it is a very difficult thing for them to squeeze time out for their pets as preparing food for pets and bathing them can take anywhere between 30minutes to several hours. Furthermore, more active pets like dogs have to be regularly taken out on a walk which is a pin to owners especially those that do not like to go out of the house and exercise. However, some pets like goldfishes are relatively easy to look after. All we have to do is feed them everyday which only takes about 2minutes or so and we only have to wash their tanks and change their water every few weeks.

I agree. Since olden times, man has been hunting animals for food and medication. As we get more and more modern, we started hunting animals not only for their food but also their skin for fashion. Animals like rhinos are regularly hunted for their horns for medicine while sharks are often hunted for their fins to eat in various Chinese dishes, leading to them being on the verge of extinction. Furthermore, as man contributes more and more to climate change, many animal’s habitats are slowly getting destroyed. An example is the Antarctic. As global temperatures rises, the Antarctic is slowly melting away and if polar bears cannot adapt to new environments, they will eventually be extinct. As the world grows more developed, we have also destroyed many forests to build tall infrastructures. As many animals are unable to adapt and find new habitats, they die, leading to their kind being endangered.

I think the people in the picture are feeling delighted. The picture shows a woman smiling happily while cuddling a cat, hence I assumed that the woman is a person who have a strong affection for small animals. On the other hand the man in the picture was looking at the cat from the side and hugging his wife lovingly, thus I assumed that the man is not that fond of animals compared with his wife. Another reason the elderly couple feel delighted can be because the cat is a source of entertainment that would make the elderly feel less lonely as it provide companionship.

I think that they are happy as pets bring people joy. The people in the photo seem to be occupied with their cat as they have nothing else to do and their cat could bring them happiness

 

 

(2)      I think that the difficulty of looking after a pet varies from the owner and the animal being looked after. Some animals may require more care than the others and some require less. looking after pets is about responsibility and it may be hard to take care of pets if one is irresponsible. personally, I have a dog and I think looking after a pet is easy as I am quite responsible and have good time management. Taking care of a pet involves feeding it, bathing it and spending time with it to bond with it. I feel that these are easy and enjoyable as I like to spend time with my pets to relax myself and to make it happy. Taking care of a pet also entails the regular visit to the vet to get it checked up on, to make sure your pet is healthy. Taking care of a pet can be easy if you think it is enjoyable, and worth your time

 

 

(3)     I agree that humans are the main reason animals are endangered today as humans constantly hunt animals for food and for sport. Animals like elephants are hunted due to their valuable parts,such as ivory I the elephants tusk which are used to make ornaments and the such . Some other animals like deer are hunted for sport. This causes animals to be endangered as they are hunted excessively. Another reason why animals are endangered by humans is due to human activity that caused global warming.  Global warming makes the environment hotter, making the animal’s habitat too hot for them to live in. hence, chasing them out of their habitat and potentially die in the wild. Hence, I agree that humans are the main reason animals  are endangered today
