Cars are a great use to the people of Santa Clarita in their everyday lives. Levittown was built closely after World War II, a time when consumer consumption was at a high. Cars were a necessity for commuting to work. At the center of Suburban life were cars, and that is still true today on Santa Clarita. Everything was made around cars: motels, movies, shopping, malls, fast-food restaurants, and banks. All of these institutions are located in Santa Clarita, today. It got to a point where in Levittown cars were being kept in the living room, since they were so idealized, this trend didn't last for a very long time, but it shows how important cars were to people back then. Cars are just as important to the people of Santa Clarita, who even have a car per person.

In Levittown streets were curved gently in order for the esthetic effect and to slow down auto traffic. Santa Clarita also has these curved roads because of its cul-de-sacs and it has some curved segments of roads in general, like the Old Road. The trees in Levittown were planted at the rate of one every twenty-eight feet. In Santa Clarita in almost every main road there are trees on the divider. They are all spaced out evenly. The only reason they are there is for the look because they are not deeply planted, since they fall easily when there is a storm.

Levittown allowed only whites, even in the actual contract it stated that blacks are not allowed. After a while blacks were allowed into Levittown, but originally Levittown was completely white. Levittown was completely segregated. Santa Clarita is the exact opposite of Levittown in this case. Santa Clarita is very diverse allowing any gender, sexuality, and race in. Santa Clarita is made up of many different people and that's what makes it so special. Santa Clarita has the diversity that Levittown severely lacked. Also in Levittown there was a lot of conformity, this is not the case in Santa Clarita. Levittown had a range of public facilities like shopping centers, churches, swimming pools, town hall, and many more. Santa Clarita has all of the facilities that Levittown has and more than even that, it even has a railroad station like Levittown. The people of Levittown and the people of Santa Clarita aren't really different when considering their daily life. They go to work, spend time with their families, and go out to these public facilities, so it is not a surprise that not much has changed. The crime rate in Levittown was very low just like the crime rate in Santa Clarita was very low. In Levittown people would struggle to even find their own house because all of the houses were the same. In Santa Clarita it's the same case, the houses in a neighborhood look a lot alike; they are painted the same, have the same structure, the same floor plan, etc. When you look from afar at Santa Clarita it is just a bunch of houses bunched together, the same is for Levittown. People try to customize their houses to stand out from the rest with different plants or lawn ornaments, just like how they would do in Levittown. The person who started Levittown was racist and believed in segregation which reflected the type of people who lived in Levittown (race wise). While it's the opposite for Santa Clarita because it is so diverse. The lay out itself is almost identical, only different because Santa Clarita is technologically more advanced. The houses in Santa Clarita are similar, there are public facilities, the necessity of cars, and even all the details such as the curved roads are practically identical.
