I loved this series as a little girl because my mom would read it to my sister and I at bedtime. It sparked my love for reading, opened me up to realistic fiction, and inspired me to visit places for new adventures. The family dynamic was a mirror for me because my Dad was a huge history buff who added fun history facts to my book adventures and my mom was a stay at-home mom like the mom in the book!

As I grew, I got into the Nancy Drew series. I was so proud of reading these books independently and really connected to Nancy. She inspired me and made me feel that I could be just as capable, clever, and fearless as she was. I loved having a stay at-home mom, but I craved the independence and strength that Nancy represented.
