I think When I first Started to learn how to read, I wasn’t the best reader at all. I was going to tutoring and I feel like that helped me to get this far. Just learning how to understand the words and phrases. There were certainly times when I was asked what I was curious about or got to choose the topic for an assignment or project, but I don't this is sufficient for IBL based on the examples presented in the application presentations and our reading. For one, even if I was researching a real-world issue, I'm not sure that I was engaged in an authentic context - such as receiving and processing data as an expert might, for example. I also don't know that these projects were structured with the type of non-linear, iterative, and recursive questioning-engaging-discussing-concluding that is laid out in Pedaste's model; my schooling felt far more linear and instructor-driven.
