Each group is going to be writing their own national Constitutions (though obviously much smaller in scale) based on shared values and interests of the group. If the work is appropriately divided up between each member, this assignment will be a breeze. 

You will need: An opening and body statement of your imaginary country's values and purposes in writing this document--this should include a brief history of your country's founding (obviously made up to your liking)
A layout of how your governmental structures and institutions will work (think separation of powers, are you a Republic, pure Democracy, or perhaps an enlightened Monarchy?)
And lastly a bill of rights. 

Meet as a group, and discuss what would be important to you in the founding of a new country. Consider your made up history as context and understanding for your country's values. Although the ideas and values will need to be thought of together and subsequently agreed upon, pick one or two members to be the authors. I'm expected professional, and coherent writing so pick the best person and also realize this will be the hardest part of the assignment, so make sure the author has the lightest load in terms of research and work. 

It can be typed or handwritten with a preference for handwritten but if you prefer to type it, my expectations will be higher. Do not turn in a standard essay-format piece of paper(s). This is your country's most important founding document, make it look like such. Afterwards, all of you sign it at the bottom. 

When this is all done, all groups will share as a class their Constitutions and rank-vote for the one everyone agrees should represent the class. 

Grading will work as follows--
A group grade based on the quality of the submitted document (clarity, effort, spelling mistakes, grammar, length)
Individual grades that each member will privately submit judging each other's work and effort involved in the final product.

They all agree Destiny is the best writer because she is in AP English but Dean also states he would be willing to help write some of the work if Destiny was ever too busy.

They then decide to independently do research into other country's Constitutions (except Destiny since she is the author) to be more well-rounded in how other countries have done it. Marcella wants the country to be more based on a pure Democracy format with people having a direct say and vote in their country's laws and regulations while Dean and Makaela want a Constitutional Monarchy such as in the UK. The two sides lay out their reasoning to Destiny as she is the deciding vote in which direction their government is set up as. In the end, she votes for the Constitutional Monarchy. Especially since Destiny will be handwriting this. Each group then takes turns reading their proposed Constitutions. After ever group is done, the class votes for their favorites based on a ranking system. Out of 5 documents, the one with the lowest votes is dropped out until only two remain. The class then votes on which they feel is the best, most well-rounded and likely to set up the best system of government for its people. Though this doesn't affect each group's final grade, it does help show the tediousness and differences of opinions different groups have towards what they value and want in their country.
