The Bible is crucial to almost every Christian religion and Protestantism is no exception. In fact, the Bible is more important to Protestantism than many other Christian faiths. There were a few books that were added in error to the Old Testament by the Catholic Church that were mostly Jewish texts. These practices include going to Church, Baptisms which are a ceremony that involves dipping someones body and holy water to welcome them to the religion, and also the Eurachrist where you metaphorically eat Jesus's body. Also I need to add the Veneration which is a tad bit different than the Catholic version. There is no one clear founder, however, there are a few notable names. Martine Luther for example, lived in 16th century Germany as a monk, and had strong views that salvation from sin cannot be achieved with money, and was often challenging the Catholic church and the Pope.  Zwingli Huldrych was a Swiss Protestant Reformer and priest, living in the 14th-15th centuries. He preached according to people’s needs, opposed to the passage for the day, and believed strongly in Christ’s divinity and majesty. Finally, John Calvin who lived in the 15th century, and was the leader of the French Protestant Reform movement. Protestantism today is essentially Evangelical in practice. 
Protestantism today has many different denominations so people can be with Christ and God at many different stages of their life. The greatest population of Protestants today is in the USA. However, they are still not the biggest branch of Christianity in the USA. The Southern Baptist Convention is the largest denomination of Protestantism in the USA.

Protestants are hard working citizens with good morals, who are sometimes considered upright and strict. Many other Christians don't consider them to be a part of the Christian faith the same as them. On top of that they believe that salvation from sin is a gift from god, and if you believe in Christ and truly know it in your heart you will be rewarded.
