I follow some techniques to make the classroom engaging through several activities. such as peer discussion, peer checking, role play, group activities, concept mapping. I engage all the students by dividing them into small groups in small or large activities writing, talking, problem-solving. I provide them few pieces of chit paper where some keywords are written there, and I ask them to rearrange those words to make meaningful sentences.

I use different types of methods to make my class effective and interactive. First I share the pre learning materials(videos, articles etc). After that students explain the task themselves (whatever they understand) if someone is incorrect students correct them. I am there to guide them. so peer learning, peer discussion is there which is I think very important to make our classrooms students-centric. Sometimes after explaining the key words I ask the students to make questions related to that. Which they ask each other in groups. Different tools are also used in class like- Mentimeter, Jamboard, Quizizz . We use them mostly as exit ticket.

I use a distributed Google doc for all students with their names. After sharing past papers questions from A Level . Students try to self assist their work and peer assessments take place. I provide them 2 marks for feedback such that they comment on each other work. This helps them to create a Question Bank for the exam. During revision, this google doc helps a lot to all students to go through each other answers and self prepare for exams.

I use many different methods to make my class more interactive. I use group discussion where students can share their own thoughts and ideas. I also use the flashcards to make the keywords more vivid to the students. Students can summarize the main ideas of the topic discussed in the class by looking at the key points in the flashcards. I also use the role play activity where students can come across the Character much more profoundly. In idioms I have used color paper with pictures on it so that students get hold of the idioms by looking at the pictures one by one simultaneously.

After that do the game boys vs girls. it helps the students to engage themselves fully. Next, Prior learning- Which is also described by the students. 2 team-wise, students represent what they understood from the topic. Segmentwise objectives and keywords are also described by the students. The main activity I planned with groups. In groups, the selection of students is related to mix matches. Like those who are fast learners, they can help their friends with peer assistance and I always check that my students are asking the question or not, by the self-assessment. at last, I ask my student what they learn today, which means exit ticket. I would like to extend some other ideas as we are learning in this training. for instance:

There are several activities which I do regularly in my classes to improve learner engagement.

Firstly, during a summary writing task I divide the class into 3 or 4 groups and then assign certain portions of the text and ask them to list 4 content points each and rephrase them. I make is mandatory for all students to participate and then select one from each group and then discuss. This encourages peer learning while creating scope for reflection and peer feedback.

Another activity I do regularly is Brainstorming. I give an essay title along with vocabulary words and then take inputs from each student on particular ideas. I then jot them all on the board like a spider diagram and bring them together. Through this activity, learners learn about mapping ideas and coherence.

Finally, another activity which is very useful is the Thought Activity where students are given a controversial or debatable topic and then I divide the class into 2 groups where each group presents their side with different speakers as group members and then I try and give a resolution to the debatable question.

Students do this task in groups. They divide their work among their friends and complete it during the expected time. I have seen that students become more involved in researching, collecting information, making ppt more presentable which prove their motivation of learning.
I want to apply Jigsaw puzzle to make the lesson engaging and to make the students more creative in applying their strategy of learning.
