45 flannel shirts - I chose this because flannel shirts are very warm and they could come in handy. I say this because they are traveling the world and they are going to going to very different climate areas.

Hatchets - I say this because with hatchets you can cut a lot of things. You would be able to split wood and you could also use a hatchet as a weapon.

Blanket - I chose this because they have to sleep somehow and with blankets them this would make them warm if something were to go wrong. Meaning if someone were to get sick then you could use the blankets.

Knives - I say this because it would make it to where they could use them for a lot of things.

Chronometer - I say this because you use this too find longitude. I say I would pick this because with knowing longitude then you can find your location a lot easier.

1st person
For my first person, I chose Sacagawea. I chose her as someone to take with me because she knew all of the land that they were exploring so she could help them a lot. At least help them with location. But, I also think that she would be able to help them because she lived there and knew the animals that would have been there. With this being said, she could help them with what they need to be protected from. She also helped them dig roots and plant food and get food. But, at the same time she made a huge contribution because she showed the men how to make different types of clothes. She showed them how to make leather clothes and moccasins.
2nd person

The second person that I would chose to take with me would be York because he risked his life just so that he could save the people on the expedition. They had almost died because of water flowage and he risked his life to save them. This shows well that they would be able to trust him. He was an enslaved African American that had some of the freedom that most slaves did not. He had this freedom because he had went on the expedition with Lewis and Clark. Most slaves had not been able to use weapons but York was different. They let him hunt, and he was an outstanding hunter.

The plant that I chose to write about was Snowberry, Symphoricarpos albus. In his excerpts, he said, “a species of honeysuckle much in it's growth and leaf like the small honeysuckle of the Missouri only reather larger and bears a globular berry as large as a garden pea and as white as wax. this berry is formed of a thin smooth pellicle which envellopes a soft white mucilaginous substance in which there are several small brown seed irregularly scattered or intermixed without any s[h]ell or perceptable membranous covering.

I chose a grizzly bear for this part of the project. Bears in general held a special place in American Indian cultures, because bears resemble people in certain ways. They eat the same types of food. They stand on their hind legs, and sometimes walk upright, their forelegs hanging like arms. In his journal, Lewis had said, “"When the Indians are about to go in quest of the white bear, previous to their departure, they paint themselves and perform all those supersticious rights commonly observed when they are about to make war uppon a neighbouring nation."

On this expedition, they had met blackfeet Indians. They got along with this tribe well and occasionally spent winters with them. The Blackfeet were regular commerce partners with Canadian-based British merchants, and in their frequent visits to trading posts, the Indians exchanged wolf and beaver pelts for guns, ammunition and alcohol. They’re relationship had lasted about 20 years. Through this time, they had camped together a lot.
