For example, in the documents there is an enduring issue because one group of people has more power than the other creating conflict. As seen in Document 6, Japan took over Korea and forced Koreans to study and follow the Japanese religion. Japan had great power of Korea.

For example in document 1, the Spanish wanted to convert the Natives to Christianity, but the natives refused.Chaos began when the spanish fired on the unarmed natives. This shows conflict that the Spanish started to convert the natives unwillingly.- CVP

I think power is the most that is added to each document because every single one of the documents has power over something or someone. For example, in the last document, Muslim men think that they can take over Muslim women, which is considered as power over women. - Z.M

To briefly explain, in Document 6 the process of the Japanese attempting to eradicate the Korean culture is a very clear example of Human Rights Violation. This goes for Documents 7-8, in which the Indigenous People must gain their rights to self-determination and in Document 8 where ISIS causes chaos and violence for no reason in so many innocent lives.

America breaks away from Britain because Britain was abusing its power. In document 3 conflict started due to European abusing its power in Asia. In document 4 America abused its power to take over Hawaii. They dethroned the current queen so they can have more power in the pacific ocean. One last example is in document 5 when Amercia uses its power in the western hemisphere to prevent other countries gaining power. This are some of the examples of power being the most important enduring issue. Jeremy Tam

For example in document 1 the spanish are forcing power over the native americas by trying to convert them to christianity. Another example is when in document 2 the US founding fathers want to take power from the king of england. Document 3 shows this aswell when the europian countries were dividing up power over china. Document 7 is about how the UN gives native america people the power to make political, social and economic growth on thier own. Power is one of the main enuring issues shown in documents 1-8

I think power is seen in all of the documents because they mostly have to do with fighting for control of land or power over other people. The japanese try to control the Koreans and take away all of their power. That is the same with the ISIS document. Also in document 3 the spheres of influence are just basically spheres of power. lastly in document 4 there is a conflict over power in hawaii with the leader at the time and the U.S. So overall most of the documents had the theme of power as an enduring issue.

For example, in Document 1, the Spanish conquistadors wanted to convert the natives to Christianity. This caused a conflict where the Spanish fired on the unarmed natives because they didn’t want to convert. The attempts of the Spanish to impose their culture onto the natives caused harm. Impact of Cultural Diffusion is also seen in Document 4. America took over Hawaii causing their queen to lose her power, and some of their culture to be lost in assimilation.
