I learnt that Reflective Practice is a structured way to review and improve, not just for the role of an AE but for myself. It goes beyond describing what happened to analysing outcomes and planning future actions.

Previously, I focused mainly on what happened in class and how to help learners achieve, but overlooked improving myself in a more systematic way. The different RP approaches and learning cycle also show how reflection supports my continuous improvement in planning, delivery, and learner outcomes, as well as my own growth as a trainer and individual.

This learning journey was challenging, and at times I felt overwhelmed and close to giving up. However, it made me realise the importance of resilience and using reflection to reframe my learning and improve myself continuously.

(I still believe LU1 should be introduced as the first module, or at least by the third module, when learners may start to feel like giving up. At that point, it can serve as a useful reflective tool to help them pause, reframe their learning, and rebuild motivation.)
